You say you received a lot of messages...well so did I. Calls, texts and private messages here and on FB. Why? Because I went to bat and I asked people to help and they were stunned....they didn't see anything but the photos of Piper's puppies being posted all over FB and people clammoring over them wanting to buy them...asking you how much. They didn't see a person horrified by an "oopsie" pregnancy. I didn't see it so I don't know what the posts looked like (I unfriended you right away so I would not see them...not something that I could hack) but I understand that no one was informed that this was an accident and that you or anyone else was worried about the health of the mom and the puppies. What I was told was that it looked like a celebration of the birth of these puppies.

Whatever....it's done now. I did not attack you....I distanced myself because it made me so upset. I made a public apology to all of my friends for involving them. I had let my guard down and won't do it again. As I said previously, I will not ever support an individuals efforts to vet their personal pups. I will stick with helping rescue.

I posted 1 photo of Piper with her puppies and 1 photo of each of the puppies. Yes, I celebrated. I would rather celebrate that Piper and her puppies made it thru this than to have to post that they didn't. No where did you see that I ever gave someone a price for one of the puppies.

You were the only person I spoke with about this happening. And it took a lot for me to tell you. I respect everything you do with your organization, I appreciate all your words of wisdom that you gave me. All the help and the way you went out of your way for me.

I will ask you this. Please don't shut others who may need you out just because I made a mistake. That is not the kind of woman you are. I know you are upset with me. But, please don't take it out on someone else who may need you.

Keeping little Piper girl in my prayers today for a positive vet report. When I offer help to anyone no matter how big or small it may be, it comes from MY HEART. And yes, I have helped more ppl then I care to remember and have been burned and swore no more, never again, but, I cannot take it out on another person that I see needs help, won't ask, but I still help where and when I can, it's on me if I get let down. That is who I am, and I will not change. There was a time in my life when I needed help, there was no one there for me, I know what it like, I will always do what I can for someone I feel needs help. I look forward to Monday and hearing of pipers vet check.

I am not taking anything out on anyone. Many, many people do not donate to individuals. I did what I did willingly because I saw you busting your backside to take care of your puppy. I still respect you and Tony for all you did for her.

What's done is done. I just won't do this again....my time is best spent raising money for rescue. I will help anyone...just not go out and ask others to do the same. This was the universe giving me a little nudge and reminding me...that's all.

My post was not directed at you, I made a statement that is all, why are you getting all defensive and making such a statement as you don't care about my insinuations, my reply was for Bobbie, NOT for you. I have not stated "I am better then anyone else" that is how you are taking it. I am who I am and will not change, I will help and if I get hurt, well, that's on me. If you are in an attack mode go find someone else to attack. This forum is for opinions, I have given mine, just as you gave yours, why attack me for speaking my feelings. This is why ppl leave YT, because when they offer their opinions they get attacked. You continue your life and way of thinking as you see fit, myself and others will do the same. All this attack on me just for commenting to Bobbie is uncalled for. Isn't it a shame some threads are always taken to another level that has nothing to do with the original thread. I hope that you have learned....and hope others will learn from it as well. I pray that Piper and her puppies will be ok. Nothing more I can say about this.

Given your commitment and involvement with Piper, I can understand why this has affected you. I too would be upset.

I'm very sorry to hear of what Piper has gone through and I do hope that others can learn from this very unfortunate situation.

These vulnerable, innocent creatures are in our care here on this earth, and we should always protect them as such.

Just curious because I've never understood the thinking behind this, but why did you think that you could let a female in season and an intact make run around together with only a diaper and belly band "separating" them? Usually these items are easily removed.....or belly bands/diapers can slip up or down or turn. I realize the mistake already happened but I just really want to know why people think this can keep a female from getting pregnant??

I understand Linda's frustration, she spent so much on this in so many ways....I just don't understand....seems you failed to realize your pup was SAVED not cured, I can't imagine any justification here.

I hope to God she is ok and the puppies are too...what a tragic tale...yet again. I hope all who read this learn, intact pups can not be in the same house, watched, diapered, seperated through a gate, door or otherwise...humping and sniffing usually means its already too late....a sick pup should never be bred and no amount of caution other than complete removal will help...so very sad to read all this.

In my opinion there are very few accidents that happen where a dog gets pregnant. I am saddened massively for Piper. Just terrible. Yes I sent a message on fb to Bobbi because I was shocked and very upset and I was told to kiss her a**. So please keep in mind the victim is Piper not Bobbi!

And one of the first things folks need to be told when contemplating keeping intact dogs of opposite sexes in the house.

At least with large dogs we don't get that foolish belief - how-ever we still have the idiots that think a large female can protect herself from any male who wants to mate. This is an expensive disaster waiting to happen! Crate and Rotate and even separate rooms (crated) with two doors between the intact dogs is the only way to go. Separate feeding times, and exercise times. I try never to bring my female when she is in season to the vets,(if I have to it is first appointment time and leave the back way. If that is not possible I wait in the car with her until the vet is ready to see her. I will not walk her outside in public places not to mention being off lead! You track when they come into and out of season - so you know when to expect the next season. Trust the advice of breeders who keep their dogs safe from *accidental* matings and have done so for many many years.

A word for you - please have all the puppies BATS tested prior to release to their new homes. Given your gals uncertain health history - and whomsoever the fathers is is unknown and both did not go through any health screenings - that would be the least you could do.


It is IMO incumbent upon you to try as best you can to place puppies with as clear a health status as possible in future homes. Liver shunt surgery is very expensive $3K or so - not to mention Luxating Patella and ACL surgeries.


At the minimum you should be strongly advising your puppy buyers to immediately secure pet insurance which covers genetic defects.


I am sorry Piper had to go through this. Your apology sounded sincere - but for me I still don't know how that accident could have happened. You should have been told that belly bands and diapers are useless in preventing mating......


All this is a grave lesson for you and I am sorry to repeat some things already said - but just to make it clear to future readers how diligent and what the safeguards you need to take are.
