Piper Girl
 
My miracle Piper Girl goes in for her Big Girl Surgery tomorrow morning. She will also have 2 baby teeth removed and a liver biopsy also done. We are going to try to find out what almost killed her. I am a nervous wreck. We had all the lab work done. Dr. Ramsey says he thinks she is well enough to do the surgerys. Please keep our Piper Girl in your prayers. I will update as soon as I hear from the vet tomorrow.

Oh I will be praying for Piper. And you! Its so stressful when they aren't well. What type of surgery is she having? I'll be thinking of you.

MissSunni - She is being Neutered, 2 baby teeth removed and a liver biopsy.

This was posted on 4-16, just wondering how it all went with her Spay, teeth removal and liver biopsy??

I was flabbergasted yesterday to read on FB that Piper Girl who had severe liver problems had given birth to four puppies. She fought for her life not too long ago with the support of many behind her emotionally and financially. This was disappointing but I hope mom and pups are going to be ok.

I worry about the pups having serious issues there mom could have passed on. It's so sad, so much I wish I could say but couldn't. :( I got it was a money issue. Yorkies are too often thought of as money makers and this whole story is just so sad. Kinda like a well you need to pay for the vet bills you made kinda thing.

Why would anyone intentionally put their baby under the stress of pregnancy, delivery and then nursing when the baby's health is precarious at best? And then what about the puppies?

Just don't understand the logic?!?!

Wow that is so weird, if I remember correctly that pup was on death's doorstep. I know the gal had other pups, was it an accident before the spay surgery. I can imagine Linda would be upset by this, she was a very big help to that gal during the whole ordeal.

This is a dumb question and LOL don't have time to look it up, but since I have never bred anything, what is the gestation period for a yorkie, I wonder if when the went to do the spay they saw that she was carrying puppies and they were to far along to do anything about it, or was the spay not really going to happen. I hope the puppies don't inherit the liver issues.

Says there was an ultrasound after her heat and the vet said not pregnant..scheduled spay and when she took her in she was too far along. Didn't know.... And said the vet kept apologizing. WhatEVER..he didn't put that poor pup at such a risk.

Very disappointing. The momma looked horrible in the photo of her and the puppies. Then, all I saw was photos of those puppies all over FB. Was this someone horrified about the possibility her momma could have some issues going on? Or horrified that this happened? Not in my eyes. I now have removed any possibility that I will see any more photos....makes me sick to my stomach. Poor Piper didn't deserve this..and those puppies are at risk of whatever is wrong with Piper.

She has now ruined it for anyone else who needs assistance. I am back to my rescue only assistance.

Such a sad situation. I just don't understand how people can be so irresponsible. I understand accidents can happen, but ESPECIALLY with this girls health issues, the owner should have made sure her intact dogs were kept apart while she was in season. And if this was done on purpose, how aweful.

Yep, just tragic. I would have felt better if I had heard some remorse...instead all I saw was the celebration of the puppies. And, when I suggested Piper be seen asap I was told she has an appt on Friday....6 days away...and I quote her "she did good". I just "walked away"...nothing I can say now that would matter. Piper and her puppies are in my prayers..nothing else I can do.
