| You and Sully will both be in my prayers. It looks like your surgeon has done many surgeries like Sully's, so he is in good hands. I hope Sully heals quickly and is soon free from pain.

| Thanks. VESH in Brentwood, NH just called a little while ago to make sure I don't feed him anything after 8pm tonight and I just found out that he'll be there overnight. Now I'm really anxious, he's never spent the night away from home. UGH! I can't believe how freaked out I am over this whole thing. I've been crying like a baby all day. |

| You are BOTH in my prayers. I know just how you feel. When Jezebel had TPLO surgery, she stayed overnight. Even though I missed her and I worried, I knew she was in better hands than mine at that point, and that she was with experienced people that knew how to get pain under control before she came home. So try and look at her night away along those lines. The long recovery is very trying, but it is so worth it in the end.

| I definitely understand and would be the same way. With my Rainbow Bridge babies, I only once after they stayed overnight together for the first time after a spay left one of them overnight, and it was so difficult for me. With their baby sister, she came home after her spay. With Katie now I find it difficult to even leave her home alone, so I'm worse than ever. Despite that, your animal hospital has 24 hour care, and they will probably be able to handle his pain management better in the hospital. I hope that helps you to leave him there overnight. I'm sorry this is so difficult for you. When you see him feeling better once this ordeal is over, a heavy weight will be lifted from you. Hang in there, and please remember that we care and are here to support you.

| I know how scared you are but try to think how great the odds are in Sully's favor that these surgeries are done by the dozens daily at vet clinics and hospitals without any problems at all. Try to just tell yourself this surgery will improve his comfort level and quality of life and concentrate on staying busy from the time you leave the vet's clinic, going to work, the gym, the mall or home - cleaning the house, doing laundry or shopping - whatever keeps your mind and body busiest. It's the loneliest drive in the world when you leave your furbaby for surgery and drive away and you will second guess yourself 40 times on the way - probably even cry - but hang in there, before too, too long you'll get the call that the surgery is over and Sully is waking up!!! Please post as soon as you know his surgery is over and let us know how he's doing as you can.

| Don't worry. Sully will be fine. I had to leave Barney for two nights when he tore his CCL and he was 11.5 at the time. Try to just relax. The place sounds good with an experienced surgeon. They do this everyday all day. It's a big deal to us, but to them, business as usual. I'll be looking for you update tomorrow!

When it's all over, every time you see him run like the wind, you will be so thrilled and glad that you did this for him. Jezebel's surgery was on one knee.
