YorkieTalk Newbie! | Tysan needs help yall. :( Hi everyone i am new to this yorkie talk..this is my first time ever joining something like this.. So I hope I am doing this right..I really need some help...My one year male yorkie Tysan has not been himself for about a week now. I took him in last Thursday 10/23/14 for a ear mite treatment he was fine then after I brought him home and started the vomiting medication he started acting strange. Then I noticed he hadn't pooped so I took him in again on Monday morning 10/27/14 the vet took x Rays and showed that he was constipated they did do an enema on Tysan but no luck he pooped very lil. I brought him home with some laxative that the vet gave me I have been giving him pedia lite he isn't eating as much as usual he does poop but very Lil and maybe only once a day. Today 10/29/14 he seems to be getting worse I just don't know what else to do. He is walking very hunched back and slowly sometimes he yelps out of nowhere and sometimes he will burp out loud which I never heard him do. I am so worried for my poor baby I don't know what else to do...i hate seeing him so down. please help. Help |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I'm so sorry to hear about Tyson, sometimes the medications can be worse than the disease. If dogs vomit and aren't eating, they won't be pooping a lot. Enemas completely empty the intestines, so it might take a while before there's enough food to digest. If possible, I like doing things a little more naturally and a tablespoon of pumpkin can help regulate the dogs intestines, without being so drastic. Not saying you should give pumpkin at this point, it really depends on other things. What are you feeding him? Is he vomiting? Is he still on the medication for ear mites? What's the name of the medication?

| Maybe what the vet sees as "constipation" is actually an obstruction. I would have this baby re-rayed and compare the two films to see if the "constipation" blockage is getting any better...has it moved at all? I have never had a dog constipatede, so I just can not imagine this much distress for this length of time, with still minimal pooing! I am concerned about an obstruction.....poor baby, it breaks your heart to see them this miserable! I will advise you NOT to get caught in the weekend without getting this baby seen again....if you end up in an ER in the middle of the night, it will cost Big Bucks... |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | So darn irritating, some of these first time posters find Yorkietalk and then don't ever come back. I always think the worse when this happens, but I hope Tysan is all right.
