My baby has me at panic right now. last night at around midnight I had her in my lab and all of a sudden she threw up white foam which was very odd because I never seen anything like that come out her. And just now at 9pm she threw it up shes been very calm lately fighting her sleep alot and moving around laying flat here and there. I made an appointment with my vet for wed it was the soonest he had.

Im thinking of giving her an apple or banana baby compote. Would it be a good idea? Any suggestions ? Or idea of what she may have?.

If I were you, I would tell my vet my dog needs to be seen before then....work her in! I pup that has been vomiting for 2+ days can be considered an emergency....they dehydrate and will go downhill rapidly. You dont want to end up in the emergency hospital in the middle of the night....that will cost you at least double what you would be paying if your own vet saw his own patient.

Shes just laying down asleep , although she hasnt thrown up anymore since last night and she hasnt pottied since yesterday morning. It makes me sad to see my baby like this , I really hope its nothing serious.

This baby needs to be seen ASAP. Find a vet, travel to get to one if necessary...you can possibly lose your pup! If she has an obstruction, and her gut starts to die because of the pressure of the obstruction against the gut, she will more than likely die. At the very least, you are going to have a huge surgical bill and follow up care....that is just one of many possible scenerios.....

Hey , just an update on mia. I had a struggle taking her to the vet because her old wasnt there and I wasnt going to wait for him. I took her to a clinic further ahead and she was seen in a quick manner.

The vet felt her abdomen and she started crying very loadly. He though it could be pancreatitis so he took some blood work and tested it. Fortunately, it came out negative. He then took an xray and notice her stomach was tighten as he explained to me. He showed me a very very tiny white piece of plastic or something he said that caused this . He said everything else seemed normal and in good standing. He put some fluid on her due to all her vomitting ,gave me 2 different liquid medicines, 2 tablets and 4 cans of prescribed science diet canned food low fat for the next 3 days. He said to leave her alone and follow the directions and shell be alright.

Thank god it was nothing major I was already crying for my baby at the vet.

You have to be careful with Yorkies. They eat everything. I hope she can pass it soon and her stomach will feel better. I know it is hard to keep up with them. Mine always has something in his mouth.

I know shes a quick one too. Idk what this could have been i was off the whole weekend with her. I called out today because it could pass another day with her like this. Everytime i catch her with anything a napkin or anything i just pull out the bitter apple spray and she drops it right away. I hate taking her outside because ik she picks up all sorts of garbage out there. I had a ordered a stroller for her 2 days ago to take her out in there because otherwise shes home trained theres no outside for her.

Glad you got in to see the vet. I would check your baby's poop very closely to make sure she passes whatever she has in her stomach. If she vomits again or passes any blood, take her back to the vet right away.

I don't want to scare you, but until she passes this object and is keeping food down/pooping normally, she is not out of danger. Watch her closely.

Maximo is absolutely correct. Now I don't know what vet offices are like in NYC but here in Toronto, if I have an emergency that fits into the hours my regular vet is open I simply show up as soon as they open, and say my dog needs to be seen NOW. If they can't or won't accomadate I am off to one of three ER hospitals in my city.


A vets job is to deal with emergencies and most especially for a regular client of theirs. Just a suggestion, hopefully it can work for you. You are the health care advocate for your pup....

I am very happy she got treatment that she got...but this is to be considered "something major". If that plastic does not pass, or if it cuts through her intestine, you will haqve a MAJOR issue.....you MUST stay on top of this....you are not out of the woods at all with this issue....watch her very closely, watch her for more vomiting, watch her to be certain she has bowel movements.....watch her appetite.....make SURE she passes this plastic or she will require surgy to get it out...perhaps it could be removed by a GI specialist with a scope, but this is a major issue and I would not let that vet lull you into a sense that all is just fine!

If there is something in her body that does not belong,it is MAJOR until it comes out. The best way to check poop (sorry for being graphic). Pick poop up in sandwich ziplock and squish it around until you either find the object or don't.
A blockage that keeps a pup from getting nutrition from her food is very dangerous.

Wow, I would be freaking out if this were one of mine. Going on two days without food, waiting for a piece of plastic to pass? If it hasn't passed yet, what is going to change? I would also not like the idea that something sharp would have to go the length of her intestines. I would have insisted on having it scoped immediately. This situation scares me.

I'm happy to see your puppy was seen by a vet today. She is still not out of the woods, she is still in danger until she passes what's in her stomach. Please follow the advise of yorkiemom1, also as gross as it is, it's imperative that you definitely know your puppy passes what ever she swallowed , please follow the advise of My lil friend "Pick poop up in sandwich ziplock and squish it around until you either find the object or don't". just as moms change a baby's diaper. Mia is your baby, she has only you to trust her health to. Your lil Mia is just beautiful. Please keep us up-dated. I am keeping lil Mia in my prayers that she passes what she swallowed and does not get hurt with it's passing.

MyBundleofJoy, this is what I am thinking too. If the object was making her throw up for almost 2 days, I'm surprised the vet thinks it will pass.

How is she now?
