| ![]() Thanks everyone. I can't even explain how happy this has made me. I put my ear to his chest and now instead of hearing this whooshing sound, I hear a nice steady little heartbeat. Its wonderful! He's laying in his pen with the little cone thingy on his head :/ Feel bad for him - but I know its JUST temporary. He's eating normally (like a little piggy). So far - so good! | ![]() Awww. It made me cry when I listened for the first time. Amazing what they can do these days. Btw. The surgery was less than half what we were quoted. That was also nice lol. |

| ![]() Thank you so, so much. So far so good! Took the bandage off today. He's got about a 3 inch incision down the side of his ribs. Quite something. Poor little guy is being so cooperative though. I hate to see him like this and am looking forward to 3 weeks time when we can be back to our play time! I'm really in awe of what can be done. I don't know if anyone here has had a dog with PDA, but when I would hold him before - you could feel his little heart beating so quickly and hard in his chest. If I held my ear to the side of him - I could hear this loud whooshing sound. Now when I hold him. His heart beat is a soft, steady rhythm. The whooshing sound is completely gone and I only hear the light, steady beat. Truly amazing. (: Shauna |

Yes, it really is amazing! While I didn't foster the most recent one that we had, I was able to watch it. She didn't stop after her surgery .. she was recently adopted and is expected to live a long life.

| ![]() Magnus continues to do great! He's wanting to play and I'm continuing to keep him calm and rested. He looks at me with these sad little eyes and lays the guilt on :/ Have to keep reminding myself its temporary! I'm so thankful that I had trained him to actually LIKE his pen. He rarely whines in it - thank goodness for that! We had to resort to putting a clean, loose fitting tee shirt on him. The collar given by the vet worked up until he kept putting the bottom of his jaw under and getting his mouth stuck. Then I went and bought a $22 inflatable collar. It was softer and seemed great. That lasted for ONE night. He managed to turn it around, chewed off the plastic plug, chewed through the strap AND chewed a hole in the end. Kinda made me laugh. It wasn't enough to partially destroy it - he had to completely destroy it - sighhhh. Another week and he gets his stitches out. Looking forward to that! |

| ![]() He's a stinker! I tried to create an album. Lets see if I was successful.... Shows his surgery incision. Might not be for the faint of heart. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/alb...?albumid=16884 Last edited by -echo-; 11-17-2014 at 07:01 PM. |
