| Thankyou to all the yorkie moms support. Donna, for the chemo treatments over the next year and half thats needed Its my understanding its approx 200-250 in meds per month and then monoriting charges aside from that being approx200-250 as well. At the cost of what im guessing to be approx 600 a month the neuro told me about 1/3 survive. My reseach online says approx. 90% full remission. I will have to double check on our appt sept 3rd because it was alot to absorb when she called me. I do trust this doctor and was sent there because their reputation to be best in pittsburgh and surrounding area.j really dont unerstand grants and such or if they even exist. Im on a trip right now and work as a flight attendent. Mercy at home with daddy and he says she doing well on prednisone I know of course this is temporary, but cant wait to get home to her tomorrow! I will talk to the doctor on her appt. but cant imagine any miracles. Im still overjoyed I chose her ( well she actually chose me with thoe adoring eyes) between the two pups. In her short life she has so much joy an it will never measure to the joy she's brought us. |

| Funding is difficult to come by from what I understand; but always worth checking out. Here is a link that might be worth checking out: Are You Having Trouble Affording Your Pet? : The Humane Society of the United States

| Thankyou so much. Will continue to research all options. Will be concentrating on her quality of life in the coming weeks and post how she does. She is the only yorkie I ever owned and I am always amazed in what an incredible breed they are and I am now also amazed by the incredible breed of people that love them! |

| Thankyou Sue. I was going to post this evening after all because I am so happy today! My darling Mercy is her normal healthy happy self today for the first time in weeks!!! My husband and I been spending all day in awe of her normalcy! Of course I realize that its a good day on the prednisone and it cant continue long term without the unaffordable chemo treatments but so hard to believe our little baby back to old self today. It makes me have ALITTLE hope however Im not getting carried away. I have decided Im going to search out any possible funding/grant or foundation that might save her life. Most of what I checked into yesterday is for neutering/spaying or vaccines but in the next weeks im going to continue the search for help. Im reading survival rate 90% if treated properly. If anyone knows of some where or organization that may help please let me know. My mercys life is more important than my difficulty in requesting help. Im going to ask my daughter to help me post her picture next week (im not so savvy at these things). What a wonerful day today!!! |

You are right, I love Pippin, but Shaina was special and my "forever dog" Pippin is only still a puppy and I think I will come to think of her as a forever dog too. She makes me smile and laugh, she is so full of personality. Please keep us posted as you go through your journey. Here shaina is in her velvet cape for Halloween. shaina halloween small.jpg
