But, we are hoping that she gets to come home under other conditions. |

oh Bobbi, I am crying just reading this, I know how quickly they wrap their paws around your heart, I am praying for a miracle and thankful that you have a supportive husband |
Wow! How sad! And what a little fighter you have on your hands! Adding my prayers for Piper and her family... and her vets. |
Don't give up yet...miracles do and have happened on YorkieTalk! Fight Baby Girl Piper - you can do this, keep fighting! We're all pulling and praying for you. |
Thursday Morning update on Piper Girl. It's one hell of a roller coaster ride. Her liver values are all back down and her billyrubin is back to normal. But, Her blood sugar dropped to 90 even with the Dextrose and Nutracal. They are now giving her double Dextrose every 2 hours to try to get it up again. Will let it stay up for most of day and then try to wean her off to see if she can sustain her blood sugar with just the Nutrical. They are going to be running the test again at 10am to see if it has gone up any. And then again at 2. So, this fight is not over. He does say she is more alert and energetic today, and as of 4 this morning eating very well. So please keep praying. I will keep ya'll up dated as soon as I hear something. |
Oh Bobbie, I can only imagine what you're going through. My heart's aching for you and Piper. I do believe in miracles though and will continue to pray that Piper will be your little miracle girl! Sendings (((Hugs))) and positive thoughts your way. |
Praying, praying, praying.... |
I check all day for updates on Piper. This sweet baby has stolen my heart as I am sure she has everyone else's. The decision you are are facing should never have happened. Your breeder is totally a liar or incompetent or both. I have faced the same terrible decision you are coming too and understand the depth of pain and heartbreak you will have but as long as there is hope, and I believe there is, then we will continue to pray for a miracle. |
Praying for Piper for more good news to come, and for her to win this battle. {{{hugs}}} to you Bobbie. |
Daily prayers have been said for Miss Piper. |
The news certainly doesn't sound good but even a tiny hope is something for Piper to fight with and you to keep on hoping for. I was once told that the human liver has amazing recuperative abilities if given half a chance and hopefully, so is the canine liver. Even if it turns out this isn't a congenital liver disease-related problem with Piper, a breeder of Yorkshire Terriers that claims she's never heard of either MVD or liver shunt is appalling and truly frightening. It's apparent Piper's breeder has little intellectual curiosity or sense of responsibility of a dog-breeder's duty and burden, if you will, to constantly inform themselves about the dangerous, genetic medical conditions being spread like wildfire throughout the breed due lack of knowledge and/or total indifference to the misery being perpetuated with their irresponsible breeding practices. That shocking response from a long-time Yorkie breeder, though it's sadly certainly not a surprise, once again informs us there has always been a type of breeder who could care less about what kind of dog they produce as long as it's cute enough to sell!!! I'm truly sorry the news is not better today and will stay in prayer for to precious little Piper finally be able to fight this off in these next hours and get through this medical crisis. I know you have done all that you could to get her the best care there is and you should be commended for your caring and responsible actions once she got sick. You also informed her breeder of her dangerous breeding methods which include failing to inform herself of basic facts of genetically-inherited medical conditions of the Yorkshire Terrier, so that all reading your thread will know - if they didn't already - that this type of breeder is still out there - even in this day and time when information is so easily available - and is a danger to this wonderful breed, whether or not she was directly involved in Piper's current medical dilemma. This thread is a heartbreaking but awfully important thread in so many ways for long-timers and newbies to read but the only point now is we all hope and pray for a miracle for Piper. |
