Thanks so much for the updates. Do you have to give her the meds every two hrs during the night? |
Her meds are all once or twice daily (8am and 8pm). She gets lactulose every 6 hours. She must eat or have nutrical every 2 hours around the clock. |
She is hilarious. My foster, Gizmo, had a rough day. I was just sitting on the floor with him, hand feeding him and she climbed up on my back!! She might have some liver dysfunction but don't anyone tell her that! |

Linda, how are you going to get any rest feeding her every two hrs? |
She is so cute, and what a lucky girl she is. Hope all goes well, as it sounds like she is off to a good start at the Yorkie Inn :D |
Linda, thank you for being there for Piper. You are a true Yorkie blessing. She seems to be improving bit by bit...I do hope this continues and she has a total recovery. If only she knew how many people are thinking about and praying for her. What an amazing little girl you have Bobbie, with the true Yorkie spirit. |
So happy to read that Piper is in the "House of Yorkies" during the work week! I know she will do well and how wonderful of Linda to take care of her. Love hearing that Piper is getting better and better. |
Piper Girl Barking This is our Piper Girl barking at a boxer as she went outside for the first time in a week. She still has a long way to go. She will be on meds for the rest of her life. But, this is a life worth saving. She is now Piper the Fighter Girl. Thank you all for your continued support. I will be on this forum for a long time. I have never seen a community come together like you all have. I am blessed to have found you all.:aimeeyork:aimeeyork https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-k-r...ature=youtu.be |

Piper the Fighter Girl seeing Piccolo This is Friday morning after a very bad Thursday and a very bad report from the Dr. Friday morning when Tony and I had made the decision to tell her goodbye. We brought Piccolo with us so he could see her. We get to the hospital and this is what greeted us. NEVER NEVER NEVER Give up. Twice last week our Dr. told us we needed to let her go. I am so glad we didn't listen to him. He is a great Dr. But, Piper was not having any of that. :aimeeyork https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZU0...ature=youtu.be |
A bad Breeder This is the breeder where we got Piper. Piper has a herititary Liver Disease called microvascular dysplasia. Please do not buy one of this breeders dogs. She is breeding sick dogs. We love our Piper. But, she just spent 10 days in GCVS Hospital figting for her life. Even though Yorkies can live a very long life with MVD, is it a chance you want to take. When I called to tell her what was wrong with our Piper, she stated she had never heard of this before. This is one of the TOP Issues with Yorkies. How could you breed dogs for as long as she has, and not know about this. She does not care about the dogs. She just wants your money. What happens after you buy them is all on you. Not a responsible breeder. All my friends, you have watched Piper fight for her life. Please share this so no one ever has to go thru what Tony, me and Piper had too. So glad Piper is doing well and in good hands. She and you have put up quite a fight for her precious life. I went to the breeders site and see that she is local to you. What a shame that Piper and her relatives are being subjected to this horrible disease which can be stopped in its tracks by no longer breeding the parents. I hope Piper continues to improve and lives a long and healthy life. She has a whole community rooting for her. |
I need to state that this is my opionion only. MVD has not been proven, since Piper was too sick to do a biopsy. Even tho the Dr's are 99% sure she has this. I can not prove it. I can not prove she is breeding sick dogs. I am just going off my horrifying experience and what the Dr's believe it to be. But, the fact remains that this breeder stated she has never heard of MVD or Liver Shunts. I told her she needed to do her research. I have learned more about Yorkies in the last 12 days than this woman states she has in her 20 years of breeding. How can you be a responsible breeder if you do not know everything there is to know about the breed. |
