| I have never had this experience with any of my dogs but if I knew that spaying her would stop this from ever happening again then that would be my first choice also.

| Well, I took Baby in for her recheck and the vet (a different one) said that she has cysts in her uterus. He said that the cysts would make it difficult for her to get pregnant. Furthermore, he said if she did not get pregnant, she could develop the mucometra again. For that reason, he recommends spaying and her surgery is scheduled for May 8th. I don't want her to go through this again. It's too hard on her. I don't know why two other vets told me she could have puppies again. That doesn't make sense to me. I guess they didn't know about the cysts, only the mucometra. Anyway, that doesn't matter at this time. The only thing that matters is getting her healthy again. Charlene |

| Charlene- at least it's an easy and permanent fix! I'm glad that your little sweetie won't go through any more of these issues!

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Well at least after the spay she and you both can rest easy that this will not happen again. Just enjoy her, love her and be thankful that it wasn't something worse. Take care !

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | It seems quite lucky that a vet actually did an examination to see if there was/are reproductive problems. I just wonder did you search out a specialist or at least a general vet who has more experience in repro matters? .

| Baby still isn't eating. I've tried everything. Hopefully, her appetite will improve when the antibiotic gets out of her system. It's a good thing she had a little weight to spare. Otherwise, she would be really skinny right now. Char |

| Just an update. Baby still has some drainage and continues to be very tired, but she is eating better. She will get spayed on May 8th and hopefully that will make her feel better. I just want her to be her old self...an active, feisty yorkie. Char |
