Now having said this; I am so very very sorry for what you and your pup are under-going right now. This appears to be a rare condition.

You could take this up with the mother club; www.ytca.org. And see if there could be any re-dress there with this breeder; if he/she is a member of the club.

I would have hoped that a show breeder, would have shown more compassion to you and your dog in this situation. Maybe offered you some re-compense for the medical bills.

Also there might be something that can be done if the breeders vet actually certified a clear health clearance, and your vet diagnosed this eye condition very early on when you first brought your pup to your vet. Something to consider.

Best of luck with your pup
Thank you, Gemy.

I realize that I did sign the contract. However, she promised me, when we talked on the phone, before my husband and I made the trip to see the puppies, that she would take the puppy to the Vet and make sure he was 100% healthy.

He had yeast infections in both ears, and Giardia, as well. I don't think a Vet would have missed those.

The Opthamologist that my Vet consulted, said that Yorkies are the poster child for this condition.

I've contacted AKC and they want me to file a complaint.

No, the breeder has not shown any compassion whatsoever.

I'm so sorry your baby is going through all this, and you too I would think that as a show breeder, she would want a GOOD reputation. At the very least, she should refund you what you paid for him as a show of good faith. It would probably not make much of a dent in the medical bills this poor boy is going to rack up, but it would at least be something.

Hugs and healing thoughts for you and your little guy

Thank you. Yes, I would think she would want a good reputation as a Show breeder.

Yes, if she would at the very least, refund what we paid, it would help us with his Vet bills. Just the 1st two Vet bills and medications were close to
$250.00.

Thank you so much for your healing thoughts for me and my little guy.
Esp. for my little guy. This morning, when I cleaned his eyes with Collyrium, before I put the Tacrolimus drops in his left eye, I saw that his right eye was red with inflammation. The Opthamologist at Purdue in West LaFayette, IN told our Vet to have us watch his right eye closely, because he could yet devop it in his right eye.

So, I believe our Vet will do the Schirmer tear test on both his eyes on Tuesday.

(((HUGS)))

Sheila, I am very sorry you are in this heartbreaking situation. I don't understand how the breeder can face herself in the mirror each day knowing how sick this poor little boy was when she sent him home with you.

There was a member here a couple years ago whose Yorkie had the parotid duct transposition surgery and it was a success. She hasn't updated in a long time.

I can imagine this would be a difficult surgery for a puppy. Praying eye drops/meds will help your little guy improve or at least sustain his eyes until surgery is an option.

I feel terrible for you fighting MS and having all of this stress on top of it. Praying for your comfort and your puppy's well-being.

Thank you-I don't understand how she can look herself in the mirror, either.

I think this surgery would be esp. difficult for a puppy. Esp. for Max, because he is very tiny.

Thank you for praying the drops will stimulate tear production. Right now, all we are seeing every day is white pus. So, we are very anxious for our Vet appt. on Tuesday.

Thank you-the stress of worrying about Max has caused my MS to continue to progress. Stress causes MS to progress. After Kia's death, everyone thought, another puppy would help me.

Thank you so much for your prayers for Max and I.

We both have a Max. My Max went through eye problems, corneal ulcers, from injury. It was a 6 month ordeal, off and on. I understand how scary and upsetting eye problems can be.

Cooler morning air helped him when he had active ulcers. I remember one hot, humid night that I gave in to his desperation to go walking. His eye became so dry and agitated that his third lid popped out. I thought he had cherry eye. It went back in when his eye calmed down.

When I first joined YT, there were more members whose pups suffered dry eye and had to have daily drops. Corneal ulcers are always a concern.

Continuing to pray for you and little Max. Let us know how things go at the doctor on Tuesday.

When you saw your Max for the 1st time, did you realize, "He's a Max"?

My best friend came to see him, and she took one look at him and said, "He's a Max!" So, since we are long time Beatle fans, I named him "Maxwell's Silver Hammer".

I'm so sorry that your Max had eye problems. The Congenital Lacrimal Gland Aplasia is truly scary. Our Vet has us trying Tacrolimus drops on the advice of an Ophthalmologist at Purdue in West LaFayette, IN in an attempt to see if there is any tissue that the drops might stimulate tear production. And we have to put Puralube artificial tears in his eye, 4 times a day to keep the eye moist.

Thank you so much for your prayers formy little Max and for me.

I will definitely post after Max's appt. at the Vet tomorrow morning.

Thank you so very much for your prayers.

I hadn't been here in such a long time. I lost my sweet little Kia so suddenly, and so unnecessarily on February 28th, that I just couldn't post.

As a retired law enforcement officer, proof is a big key. Also, as a human being who also lives everyday with a life threatening diseased, the truth is the most important.
You are asking for an absolute resolution on your terms without providing any proof to the breeder. Mrs. Marksbury has agreed to honor her contract.
The truth... You are defaming on a public forum, a wonderful, caring person with an unrelenting love and devotion to the Yorkshire terrier. I have known Judy for years, been to her home, have had my dogs at her home and her dogs at mine.
She is a very caring breeder who does her best to preserve the integrity of our breed. I know first hand how Judy cares for her babies. I also know her vet, I travel 600 miles just to consult with her, she shows her own breed.
Judy would never knowingly sell a puppy with any issue without full disclosure to the new parents. Shelia, you spent several hours in Judy's home playing with puppies, the eye issue you are stating as fact has symptoms, did you see the puppy display signs that would lead you to believe there was an issue? I would think not as you picked him. Considering your situation, Judy did everything in her power to make you happy including giving you the registration paperwork on a puppy BEFORE proof of spay or neuter, something we never do. Truth... You told Judy your passing will be before the first of the year and you needed the papers so you could update your will....emotional blackmail.
I have read your posts on all of the threads you have started. You are on a mission to defame a wonderful and caring person. You have mentioned several times the clubs she is affiliated with. You do not devote to these clubs and the breed if you do not care.
Judy has agreed to honor her contract. If you do not want to give up your puppy, take the puppy back, let Judy take the puppy for a second opinion and treatment otherwise return the puppy per the contract and select a replacement.
You have not backed up you allegations with any proof... Without proof, what does Judy have to respond to? Defamation is not taken lightly.
On another note, I understand your disease, mine is blood cancer.

Dixie's Mom....Sheila has bonded with Max, would you give back a pup you have bonded with....for myself I would not! She (Judy) may have been caring and wonderful to you, but in this situation with Max and Sheila, she is anything but!!

Ugh...I have to sit on my hands...

Believe me, I am sitting on my hands as well. You and others are so willing to judge a person on someone's words, very wrong.

Default Max

Pray tell what Judy would do with Max if she were to take him back? Would she, as a busy breeder etc, expend the time and effort and funds to treat and care for Max? If she were, then why not help Sheila with the vet costs instead? This eye issue could involve a lifetime of treatment and burden on his caregiver. Thank you for at least communicating for Judy as she does not seem to want to do so herself.
