We are headed up through Cincinnati today to go to his chemo and doctor's appointment. He will spend two hours at MedVet, so hope to update his situation later today. |
Hope all goes well today. Also hope that Buster feels better as the day progresses. |
Praying for Buster... hoping he feels better soon... |
My old English Sheepdog had lymphoma. He had a year of chemo, lost all his fur (I recommend shaving first) and lived another quality 6 years. Never give up hope. Prayers are with you. |
Prayers going to Buster that the treatment allows him to be comfortable and live well for as long as possible. |
Lisa I just caught up with this thread about your sweet Buster. I am so sorry to hear he and you are having to go through this. I am glad he still has an appetite and a wagging tail. Sending prayers, hugs, and best wishes. Buster Brown sends nose kisses to Buster |
Thinking of you and Buster today and keeping you all in our prayers. Keep us posted hope Buster has a better day today...so happy he has you! |
Thanks everyone for checking in to see how Buster is doing. It was a long day yesterday at MedVet for the little guy. According to he oncologist vet, Buster responded to the first chemo (cyclophosphamide) and he has some shrinking of his enlarged lymph nodes. That is the good news and I imagine that is why is coughing is much, much better. However, his platelet count had decreased, which could be caused by the chemotherapy or it could be that the lymphoma is in his bone marrow. Because of the low platelet count the vet said that the drug Doxorubicin would not be given until next week. Instead they gave him Elspar - asparaginase subcutaneously. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this chemo is going to keep him feeling comfortable for awhile. I know that this is not about me, but about this sweet boy... However I have to admit that I am struggling with my emotions today and just want Buster's time to be happy.... |
I am just now seeing this Lisa so sorry for all that you & Buster are going through prayers and hugs to you both |
