Sending hugs and prayers to you and Buster. |
Lisa, Buster and you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry this is happening. There really is not much to update at this point. The vet did not get enough of a sample in the aspirate to make a diagnosis. I spoke with her at length...she was very nice and explained things well. We decided that it would be best to go ahead with a referral to the specialist since it really is likely that Buster does have lymphoma. He has multiple nodes all over. She said that based upon her exams and tests, she believes it is probably in the early stages...but the only way to know is for staging to be done which will be done by the specialist. There will be options regarding treatment, but that can not be decided upon until all testing is complete. I am hopeful that little Buster will be with us for some time. I told Lisa that no one ever really knows. We have another foster, Chewie, who is extremely ill. He came to us in December 2012 and is hanging in even though he was from the beginning given probably 3 months to live. So, I don't believe in putting time limits on any life! |
I'll be Praying for this little one. My Sparky was diagnosed with lymphoma last yr in June & went through chemo & did very well & is still doing well almost 5 mo after his last treatment. |
Lisa I am praying for Buster and for you. I hope the news is the best possible and he will respond well to treatment. Hugs... |

Still praying for healing for Buster, and sending hugs to you Lisa. |
Sending prayers for Buster & Lisa. I have a soft spot for "Busters", that was the name of my childhood pup. |
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. It has been a very long day, but wanted to do a quick update. We spent most of the afternoon in a clinic in Cincinnati and many tests were performed on Buster. Linda understands these tests better and hopefully she will say something when she has time. But in the meantime, from what I understand Buster definitely has lymphoma, stage 4. We have chosen to do some chemo on Buster to make him feel better. This will not cure him, but can help his quality of life, especially by shrinking his lymph nodes. (Poor Buster has a cough right now and I think his lymph nodes are causing this.) Anyway, he is such a sweet boy and we have so much enjoyed having him in our lives. Everyday will be a wonderful one with him as this journey progresses. Please say a prayer for him as he starts treatments tomorrow. |
I am so sorry Lisa, I had hoped to hear better news . . . . Sending prayers your and Busters way and I hope that the kemo will bring him some relief while he lives out the remainder of his days. At least he has a family who loves him and will be by his side as he fights this awful disease. |
