A little bit of an update... Buster has been doing very well this week and is acting like nothing is wrong except one small thing. Hoping someone might have some insight into this. Buster keeps licking his paw pads and legs. I am wondering if this is an allergy type of thing? The only thing that has changed (besides his medicine/chemo, etc) is that I have been putting his medicine in pill pockets made of duck. Let me tell you these things STINK but he loves them. He has never had duck before and wondering if this is causing itching. Anyway, this morning I changed back to wrapping his medicine in fat free Swiss cheese and we'll see if this helps. Anyone have any thoughts on this? |
Although I don't have personal experience with food allergies, I would suspect the duck as the cause of licking. Hopefully the change to Swiss cheese will do the trick. I am very happy for Buster and you that he is doing so well. |
Just read all the threads to this post. My heart goes out to you and Buster. It was nice to read that he is doing better at this point and time. Reading that you posted you enjoy hearing him barking again, just makes me think of the times my YT barks and that it can get irritating at times. I shall certainly look at it differently now - at least he is able to bark with no problems. Amazing what we take for granted!! So glad that Buster isn't in any pain and that he has you to be by his side and give him everything possible to make the rest of his stay here the best!! Wishing you and Buster much time to love each other. You are both in my thoughts and I hope for a miracle here!!!!!!!! All the very best:) Keeping positive thoughts going here in BC Canada:) |
Praying for Buster and you, Lisa. Glad to hear he's doing well. You are both in my thoughts and prayers daily... |

A little bit of an update this morning.... Unfortunately Buster doesn't seem to be feeling the greatest today. I would describe it as lethargic. It has been one week since his chemo therapy and I wonder if this is the period of time where he is going to feel tired and yucky? He was not interested in following the morning routine and just laid in his favorite chair in the living room. He did eat though. This week his daily medicine consists of Pepcid AC, prednisone, and Clavamox, as a precaution. I am taking him at 8:00 to have a CBC with a differential count. Fortunately this can be done at the regular vet's office and he will not have to endure his foster mom driving in the "wild, wild west" (Cincinnati rush hour traffic) this morning. |
Thanks for the update. It is much appreciated! Totally feeling for you today, more than ever. Here's hoping for a miracle. You and Buster continue to be in my thoughts BIG time!! |
Prayers for Buster....I hope he is better. |
Sorry to hear Buster is feeling a little down today, but glad he is eating. Praying the CBC will bring good news, and that Buster feels better tonight or tomorrow. |
Sorry Buster is feeling kind of low. I hope more good days are ahead for him. |
Thank you all my YT friends for your support during Buster's illness. Sadly, Buster went to the Rainbow Bridge last night. Heartbreaking.... |
Oh no Lisa! I'm so very sorry.... crying here for you both... I know your hearts are broken. At least you did your best to help him and now he is pain free and whole again at the Bridge. RIP Buster... know you are loved by many, but especially your Mom and Dad. You'll be in our hearts forever. Hugs, Kathy |
