| ![]() Your love for Cassie is really beautiful. You are here at a place where people understand your love, and I feel the same way as you do about my Katie and my little ones before her. I hope things work out for you with your new vet. I read your thread daily, and when I hear that Cassie is doing well, it brings me great joy. Yorkie Haven Rescue sells slings that sound wonderful. I don't know if they would be too big for Cassie, but I'm sure there are members here who can help you with that. You and Cassie are in my prayers http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...og-slings.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-you-have.html |

| ![]() Hey Shellie Have you thought of a dog purse carrier? It is just like a purse but has leg holes. You can even use it to give her support while she walks. I used it when Jess broke her leg. You can get the one I att a pic of on ebay. Its pretty comfy and snug. Just a thought |

| ![]() I know what you mean by some vets not being a good fit. I fired one vet long ago because he was stoic and not sweet and tender with my then adorable mini Schnauzer pup. So now I have to drive over an hour to the next nearest vet. Probably not too smart on my part because the first vet most likely was competent, just didn't have a personality fit with me. Oh well. They've gotta at least act like they love little dogs, or they aren't going to treat mine. But I have to keep in mind that their competency is important too, since I don't have a lot of choices. Good luck with Cassie's "physical therapy". She has been through so much, and wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for your love and care.

This one was quite inexpensive, so I thought I'd try it. I have seen nice, handmade ones on etsy and other "designer" sites, but before I spend $40 or even $70, I'll try the $7 version. ![]()

| ![]() This gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside, hearing your talk of what's right for Cassie...mommy knows best. I have no suggestions as to what to feed her or how to keep her comfy but still with you/near you at all times. Just know that I have followed your thread and care deeply...my constant thoughts and prayers remain.

| ![]() You probably already know this, but just in case, make sure the baby food you're using does not contain garlic or onion powder. When Hailey was so ill, our vet told me to feed it to her. It wasn't until much later I when I finally looked at the ingredients and saw it contained onion powder. No wonder she was so sick at the end. I love your updates and pray for you and Cassie. You both deserve a break. Sandy |

| ![]() I'm so happy to hear that Cassie is doing so well. Keep up the good work Cassie. How about a doggie papoose that fits on the front of you. I had one for one of my other yorkies. Not sure where I got it or if they even sell them any more. Just a thought.

ebay has them. If you have trouble finding one let me know you can have Jess's. Its pretty small so it should fit cassie no problem or just google dog purse with leg holes.

| ![]() One thought, the carriers with leg holes look interesting, however make sure they don't restrict circulation in the legs. Honestly, they don't look very comfortable, as I think dogs like to curl up more, or move around and change positions. I can see it's value in isolating movement for a pup with broken leg though. What made me think of this is when my daughter had granddaughter in one baby carrier, her legs turned blue from poor circulation.

On another note: Stopped by to say hello to my Vets at the ER as they called to see how Cassie was doing. They were THRILLED to see Cassie and they couldn't get over how wonderful she looked. They were so excited, they took her in the back to weigh her, and guess what, she weighed 2 lbs 12 ounces. WOW. She gained a whole lb since I took her home. Now of course, this was at night, and she ate a lot today, so I really don't think she actually weighs this much or will weigh this much in the morning. But it is still a very excellent sign, and she should weigh at least a few ounces at least more than two lbs, come this morning. So I am very very excited. Also, my favorite Vet told me she would watch Cassie for me when I go for my colonoscopy in early Dec. She'll keep Cassie in her stroller , as I often do, because she has five other dogs who are much bigger than Cassie. And it is only for the day, no sleeping over. This is such a relief, I can't even express how happy and relieved I am. So now I will not be worried sick when I have to leave her for a whole day, as I know my Vet who knows Cassie so well will know exactly what to do if something goes awry. She's helped to pull her back from death more than once. I am psyched!!! YAY!!! Thank you UNIVerese!!! Thank you ANGELS!!! Love, Shellie
