| Mia2.... A couple months ago Mia2 had bloodwork done. At that time her white count was very high. 0 symptoms of any illness. Full course of antibiotics and 2 months later her white count is higher.....my vet is going to consult with the other vets in the practice tomorrow on how to proceed. No I did not ask questions. Mia is extremely perceptive and as odd as it sounds I didn't want to be upset in front of her, though I'm surprised I made it to the car as I felt like I had no legs. Mia is joyful and passive, she is a hyperactivist a.k.a bubbly pacifist who just wants everyone to be happy....Mia Is very much like her sister was....I am worried. Does anyone have any clues here? What type of specialist do I need to be looking for? Do I need a specialist? What do I need to ask the vets...keep in mind I trust these people immensely, there is nothing they wouldn't do for my pups.... Thank you in advance for kind thoughts, prayers and advice..

| No advise but I'm going to be keeping her in my prayers. I understand not wanting to get upset in front of her Callie picks up on all my emotions and gets very off and worried when I'm upset!

| They gave antibiotics for what? For an elevated white count? Surely they did tests or had some idea what was going on. Just because her white count is elevated does not mean a course of antibiotics should fix it. You need to have a clue what you are treating and what antibiotic would clear it up. Yes, the pups pick up on our emotions, but honestly you still have to ask questions Lynzy!! You really need to find out what is wrong. Have they checked her urine?

| My vet called last night because she knew I was upset and we talked about Mia. (I texted her and said "should I be scared?") and she called right away. She said it could be many things and not to make mind movies...STAY OFF THE INTERNET lol!!! They are, as we speak, running several "chemistry panels" including Cardiac, Renal and Liver. We Will have those back in a couple days and go from there. Depending on the tests we will have ultrasounds and consult with Cornell like we did for Mia1. If the need be we have in the past and we will again go to Cornell. Fortunately we do have specialists in the area who regularly consult with cornell. One thing I learned last night is we don't have a local radiologist I don't know a thing about bloodwork so any additional input regarding wbc high counts is appreciated.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Lynzy stay off the internet So many reasons for elevated WBC. Wait and see what the other blood work shows. I am assuming temp, heartrate, lungs all are good?

| Lynzy, I am so sorry Mia2 is having a problem. Prayers are going out for her. My understanding is that basically, white blood cells are produced to fight off bacteria, infection, viruses, yeast or fungi, parasites, or as a reaction to stress, allergies, etc. This is explained in this basic page without TMI: High White Cell Blood Counts in Dogs - VetInfo There are many many things that can cause elevated white blood count, so try to relax while the vets sort it out. We will all pray that it is something minor and easily treatable rather than some of the scarier things you might be fearing. Hugs to you and Mia2
