| ![]() I posted on here NOT to be spoken to like I did something wrong but simply to get the word out about my dog. None of you have told me anything I didn't know already. |

| ![]() What does getting the word out about your dog mean? What was your reason for posting here? You might need to be a little more specific for what help your looking for in order to get it.

| ![]() To me seems like she wanted monetary help, seeing as how she already knows a lot about yorkies and dogs, and she's a nurse.

![]() ![]() Since she is a nurse, she knows what is wrong with the leg, she knows about growth plates, etc, she knows what needs to be done to treat any specific break....good thing everyone didnt grab their purse and send hundreds of dollars to cover treating a severe break that was going to result "in having pups leg amputated or needed to be surrendered so medical care could be provided"......all pup needed was a splint! As a nurse, I am sure she knows what the outcome will be with a splint on that "break", and pup will be good as new, with an appropriate healing of the injury!....no lameness or crooked leg, etc......She should change vets if she thinks he is trying to soak her for $$$$.... | ![]() Casting these puppies sadly usually does not work. It CAN work, but normally does not. A board certified surgeon would be the best option for a correct treatment. I would hate to see him heal incorrectly and be crippled...or at the worse, end up losing a leg. Sadly, I have seen this happen. If I were you, I would be looking at selling something so that I had some money in case this splint/cast or whatever does not work. Of course, at that point, it might be more than your original estimate because he will probably need bone grafting. Hopefully since you are a nurse you did go to a specialist, but given that it is a weekend, I doubt it. I will pray for this yorkie. I don't know what else to say at this point.

![]() And that is coming from another nurse. My nursing degree taught me ZIP about leg fractures in yorkies. What I know I have learned from experience and dealing with many fractured legs in yorkies not to mention a bunch of other conditions.

![]() You know as well as I do that leg PROBABLY needs an ORIF....by a ortho specialist!!!!....she has put a SPLINT on it.....that is not even a cast!!! You KNOW that leg didnt go from being severe enough to possibly need amputation, to only needing a splint!!! And you are absolutely correct....this leg will end up deformed, at the very least.....hopefully this "well informed nurse" will seek the proper treatment needed to this pup and not just the cheapest way out.....and hopefully, if she thinks her vet misdiagnosed the severity of the break, going from possible amputation to a simple splint, and she thinks he recommended surgery just to get the money, she needs to change vets! | |

| ![]() Your first post on YT was to inform us "We are in DIRE need to have a complex surgical procedure. Without it, he will lose his leg or be surrendered" & I believe you asked for money. Now "the dog is fine. He's splinted." Great, I hope he's fine.

| ![]() Yep, just here to ask for money, and still trying to raise money through other venues. No problem though with affording a fancy phone, getting treats at Dunkin Donuts, and getting her nails done. This has been going on for days .... this poor little Irvin needs to be surrendered and taken care of immediately. ![]() .@siba3000 (iSiba) 's Instagram photos | Webstagram - the best Instagram viewer And feel free to "smh" at me, I don't give a flyin' flip.
