So glad to hear of Brandi's improvement. You are a good mommy. |
Glad she is feeling better |
So glad she is feeling better! You must have been a nervous wreck! Hope she continues to get better. |
Poor Brandie and poor you! How terribly scary to see this condition in her. I'm praying here and glad to see there has been improvement! |
Sending prayers to Brandi and you. |
Good news. |
Yes it was a scary, so many horrible thought went running through my mind. Progress is still slow and steady, but trust me any improvement and a blessing !! She is so hungry, I can tell that she want to eat but it is still painful and she is being finicky. She eats but very little. Hoping that after 48 hrs on meds she can eat a big healthy meal. |
So glad your little girl is feeling better. Here's hoping the vet can get the tooth out or whatever else needs to be done when you go back. Poor little girl. |
Glad to hear the progress, Dawn. I know we were all really worries, but nothing compares to the worry a mama feels when one of her babies isn't well. Get better quick, Brandi! |
Thank you all for checking in on us, it is very much appreciated !! Oh believe me Carmen I know, I was very worried as I'm sure you and sadly many of us know all too well. This is only one of two really bad scare that I have had with any of my pups in the past 11 years. So, I feel very lucky and I pray that this was my last. I think I handled it well, I was able to stay calm and no over react and get her the proper care. Update: She has had her third and a second round of two different antibiotics and a second dose of the pain meds since yesterday. Looking forward to waking up to a new and renewed pup in the morning. (Keeping my fingers crossed) I cant imagine the hunger she is feeling right now. She is my big girl and she loves to eat. She never misses a meal so this is certainly a new experience for her. The drool and thick mucus in her mouth is getting better. I'm listening to her sleep (snore) right now and she sounds better too. No drooling or gagging reflex from saliva. For a while I was so worried that she would drown on her own saliva, it was that bad and it was very scared and worried about the possibility. Plus, she was having such a hard time breathing through her nose from all of the mucus that I hadn't been allowing her to be out in the heat for too long. Afraid that it may just be too humid for her. |
What a relife! I'm so glad she's getting better. |
Great news, I am so relieved to hear that she is getting better. Can you or your vet tell if it's a dental abscess? Get well quick Brandi!!! Praying for you little girl... |
Sweet Brandi is in my thoughts & here's hoping you'll find the problem tomorrow. Thank you for keeping us informed, I can't imagine how you're feeling with such a sick pup. Take care. |
Glad she is getting better and better! |
So happy Brandi's feeling better! Quote:
I give my dogs and cats Chicken Baby Food as a treat, as some don't care for it when they first try it. After a few offerings, it is very well accepted, and I can give meds with it or feed it as a bland diet in a pinch for anyone not feeling well or off their feed. If mine refuse chicken baby food, I know they are really sick and make plans to see the vet. This also makes it easier on them if they need to be hospitalized, as I let the vet know they will take their meds with BF so they don't have to use a pill popper on them. |
