Brandi is not feeling well at all. Just returned from vet. My Brandi is a hot mess and no explanations as to why ! Just spent the last 2.5 hrs at the vet with Brandi. She just has not been herself these past few days. No, barking, not eating just laying in her cage with no enthusiasm. I though that she may have been poisoned and thankfully that was not the case. Vet checked her Heart, lungs and ran blood work all good but no explanation for the thick greenish brown puss, bubbling saliva and the red irritated and inflamed mouth and lip or the green thick mucus in her eye. So, she, will be on antibiotics and medication for her eye for the next week or so and I will be on pampering duty ! She is down a pound so I've got to get her some can food to see if I can get her to eat something. Has anyone ever experienced these type of symptoms with their pups ? |
Sounds horrible. I don't think I would be comfortable with not knowing what is causing it. If my vet did not have an answer and my pup was a mess like that, I would be at the specialist. You mean with all that drainage, there is no alteration in her blood at all?? Scary. I will say a prayer for her...I am so sorry she is so sick. :( |
Thanks Linda, they did blood work and no real sign of anything serious with her. So, going to start her on the antibiotics and eye meds and see how that goes. |
Omg that sounds awful!!! How scary :( I will pray for Brandi and that they find out what's wrong. Hope she feels better soon. |
Poor baby. Sounds like a really bad infection. Could she have gotten into some chemical irritant? I hope she feels better soon. |
Hope things get better soon! |
Maybe a tooth abscess? Try some chicken baby food... with swelling it may be physically difficult for her to eat/chew anything on top of being painful. Hope she's feeling better soon. |
Poor Brandi! The symptoms do sound scary. Praying for her. Where is the pussc coming from, her nose? |
Oh no poor Brandi.i was wondering the same thing. Sending out goo thoughts to you both. Hugs |
It reminds me of when my cat drank Ly out of the bathroom sink. But we don't leave anything laying around ever. I did get her to eat something. Only have her a small amount just in case she got an upset stomach. Thank you all for your prayers and your concern. I will fill you in on how things go. Vet said to give it a few day for the meds to kick in. If feel so bad, it is actually painful. Found that out when I tried to clean up some of the mess around her mouth. |
Oh I hope she feels better soon. Sounds so scary. Hugs and prayers. |

Cultures of all that pus and drainage would certainly show something... |

Dawn if she changes even a little bit, I would run to the EC. Scary, scary stuff to me. I am concerned. :( |
I\'m so sorry that Brandi is so ill. It was difficult for me to read how she is feeling and also being in pain. I most definitely would be freaking out and also so heartbroken to see my little girl like that. I hope she responds quickly to the antibiotics and gets better very soon. |
Checking on Brandi. I hope she is doing better |
