dog Sounds like some kind of an infection to me. I pray that she will perk up real soon or I would be back at the vet. Or at a new specialist, she needs close attention at this time. |
1 Attachment(s) We are keeping a close eye on her, Not much change, but she does go outside when we ask and before she wouldn't. Just gave her her meds with a little more soft food. She ate it right up. Thankfully she is still drinking regularly. I was pretty freaked out when I though she may have been poisoned but once the vet said no with a second opinion within the office I was relieved. It is just so aggravating that the blood test didn't show anything. May need to do a more extensive test if there is no improvement after a few days. Here are some pics of her mouth and eye. It is so swallow. :( you can see in the bottom left photo the amount of slimy drool it is causing. |
Was she outside? Did she yelp? The pics look very similar to when Luma had a severe allergic reaction to a wasp sting on her tongue. It was bad...I thought I was going to lose her. Really. I'm just going off the pics though. Her lips were so fat and she was drooling everywhere, shaking violently, her eyes were swollen shut and pus-y...I hope she is okay Dawn :( |
Wow, I am very concerned about her. Did this just start suddenly? Did they culture anything? Poor sweet baby, I really feel for her. Please continue to watch her carefully and do keep us updated when you can...if no better tomorrow seek further attention. Prayers going out for you both... |
It does look like she is having a allergic reaction to something Poor girl keeping you both in my prayers |
Oh my goddness! Praying the meds work. I agree with the others, Dawn. I would not give it a few days. If she isn't showing signs of improvement tomorrow, I would take her back..get cultures done. |
oh poor baby// hope she feels better soon |
Oh that poor baby!! Did the vet give her anything for pain? Praying hard for Brandi! Bless her heart. I feel so bad for her and you. Hugs to you both. |
Your poor baby! I agree that I wouldn't wait. I wonder if she was stung by something. :( |
I hope lil Brandi is feeling better soon. |
How is miss Brandi today, Dawn? Really worried about your baby. |
I woke up this morning and the whole side of her bed was covered in drool, there way a puddle of drool on the floor, lips were a bit more red and swollen. She refused to take the antibiotic/pill hidden in a treat and refused to eat. Sometime you can just hear her gasping for air and gargling the saliva. It scared me to I call the vet and told them we were on our way!! We discussed the possibility of a reaction to a bee sting but do to her liver level being slightly high from her history with seizures they did not want to take the chance of giving her an steroid injection because she need all the help she can get to fight what eve this is. Most likely an infection of some sort, to what no idea. We now have two more meds, another liquid antibiotic and a liquid pain med. I am hoping that the pain med will help and she can get some food in her/ She will no even eat can food and a water mixture much like a thick soup. But I did get her to take the pill hidden in a different moister pill pocket. Thank you all for you continued support and for keeping Brandi in your prayers .... |
I would use a syringe and get some water in her also. Poor girl I can not believe its not a allergy reaction with all the drooling and puffiness. Is it a tooth bothering her. Very scary sending prayers |

And Carmen, thank you for telling me about the bee sting and what you dealt with with Luma. Brandi did have an area with two bumps that she had been digging at that I pointed them out to the vet. But they can not give her a storied because it will counteract with the healing process do to her liver level being slightly elevated. What did they do when Luma was stung? |
That poor baby! She looks horrible :( I hope you get to the bottom of this soon... It looks painful! |
