Yes. Her PCV (Pack Cell Volume) wasn't high, and her bloodwork was all good and well within normal range. She also doesn't appear to have any pain in her belly area upon examination. She also only vomited the first time after I gave her pediatlyte, and then she's vomited water once after drinking. No vomiting of the bland food (chicken & rice) I've given her since this started.

Colitis - inflammation of the large intestine. Most dog owners report seeing frequent, small volumes of semi-formed to liquid feces. Many dogs will exhibit straining during and after defecation, and small amounts of bright red blood will often be passed near the end of defecation. Mucus or fat is seen in many cases of chronic colitis. Vomiting occurs in less than a third of the cases of colitis or large bowel diarrhea. Weight loss is rare.

Hope she is feeling better today . I've almost been wondering if some kind of dog gastritis bug is going around lately w/ all the odd diarrhea issues lately on the forum.

I'm guessing Zoe is back to her normal happy self? Scary though huh? Fletcher gets the same things happening to him fairly often, maybe 4-5x a year. I've taken him in 2x and they don't know what it is. They do tests and everything comes back normal. I wonder if he has Colitis. Seems to fit his symptoms too! hhhmmm

Omgosh...4-5x a year...I'd be a wreck! I take it if they don't know what it is, that they don't know what causes it either? That's the part I had a hard time wrapping my head around...it could be something ingested, it could be bacteria, it could be a virus, it could even just be stress?

It truly was scary. I just couldn't believe how quickly she dehydrated. (I kept doing the pinch test on the back of her shoulders to see how quickly her skin sprung back). I was terrified that if I went to sleep with her like that, that I'd wake up to a dead dog. IV fluids were great at keep her hydrated until her body recovered. So thankful for both the vets that helped her through this.

ZoE is doing great! Definitely back to her normal self. It took a solid week before she wasn't lethargic. I guess sickness takes a toll on their body just like it does ours.

Yay, and she is adorable swimming and floating! I am very happy to see ZoE doing well.
