Omgosh...4-5x a year...I'd be a wreck! I take it if they don't know what it is, that they don't know what causes it either? That's the part I had a hard time wrapping my head around...it could be something ingested, it could be bacteria, it could be a virus, it could even just be stress?
It truly was scary. I just couldn't believe how quickly she dehydrated. (I kept doing the pinch test on the back of her shoulders to see how quickly her skin sprung back). I was terrified that if I went to sleep with her like that, that I'd wake up to a dead dog. IV fluids were great at keep her hydrated until her body recovered. So thankful for both the vets that helped her through this.
