![]() We saw the vet and got some prednisone and some ointment to put on the spot she was chewing on, she also got a cone of shame to wear until she stops being so itchy. Poor baby- I feel so bad, I should have split them up. I don't know what I was thinking, didn't help the vet made me feel guilty about it too At least she seems a little bit perkier after her first dose of meds- still not eating dry food though but she is scarfing down wet- is this normal

| ![]() Thanks so much you guys! I was freaking out. Can always count on YT to talk you off the edge of going crazy ![]() Molli is much better- it's hard to say if the spot where the rabies was given will be a permanent 'scar' or not but luckily she's got plenty of fluffy fur to cover it up

| Spoke too soon! Ok so she feels better but her vaccine spot looks horrible! @ladyjane- when your yorkie had the reaction did it get all....road rashy almost?? I didn't really see before because her cottony coat is so thick, I only saw a little bit of it and the hair around it was all stuck, I tried to shave it a bit but I could tell it hurt her- I put a warm wash cloth on it and now I can see the area or injury is a HUGE circle on her but (like an inch I think- she wont really let me look at it) I thought we were out of the woods because she felt better

| I shaved it as close as I could to get a better look. This picture is right after I put the ointment they told me to use on it. The hard part is I am not sure if this looks better or worse because before her hair was all matted on the area so I really couldn't see how bad it was. Is this normal?! Any one else see a rabies vaccine reaction look like this??? What should I do? Keep an eye on it? Rush her back to the vet??

| ok so I am really bad at updating- sorry, promise to work on that in the future (which hopefully isn't any sick/emergencies too soon). Molli is doing much better, you really have to look close to even see the spot. I am even having her tested to be a therapy dog soon- I found a company that will accept titers on the Rabies vaccine. I don't know yet what the future will hold for Molli and the Rabies vaccine, I rather not ever give it again but if the county or something makes me I will make sure it is given at an actual vet hospital and she is pre-benadryl'd and maybe even stays in their care for a while after. I never want to see her go through that again! I learned my lesson for sure- just because I can get vaccines for cheap at work does not mean I should. I rather pay more and have my dog not get sick! And no matter what the medical people tell you SPACE your vaccines apart! Well now I know and I will be a better more cautious mommy from now on.
