Molli isn't eating! Poor Molli got vaccines on Friday. She was due for the regulars, dhpp, bordetella, and rabies. I debated separating them but she had been fine with her vaccines last year. This time really hit her hard though. She hasn't eaten her dry food but will eat wet or turkey. Yesterday she spent all day under the bed, that's where she likes to sleep. She seemed trembly and her breath smells bad like her tummy is upset. No fever or throwing up or diarrhea. I gave her Benadryl yesterday and a Pepcid ac this morning but she's just not back to her normal Molli self. I have NEVER seen her not eat her dry food so that is the most troubling. Anyone have pointers?? |
I'd keep watching her, and trying to get her to eat. It's Sunday, so I don't know if your vets open or not, but I'd call them if you can. Have you tried Nutri-cal? Maybe that will help her. I hope she feels better soon. Poor baby! I hate getting shots for mine! :( |
Poor Molli, so sorry she does not feel good since her vaccines. At least she is eating something so probably nothing serious at this stage, hopefully just a temporary lack of appetite. That seems a lot of vaccines in one day and even if they have been well tolerated before, it looks like this time it was too much for her system. It is so sad for us to see our babies when they feel unwell, they just want to go in a corner and nurse their own wounds. I pray she will get over this and back to her normal happy self soon, but if she is not better by tomorrow perhaps a vet call or visit might be good to do. I know my boy often feels low after even one vaccine, but soon recovers. Get well soon little Molli. |
This is the way it usually goes with vaccine reactions they can be just fine and then later in life you take them for them and they have a reaction. If it keeps up tomorrow i would take her to the vet |
She is a little perkier but she is just still not back to her little Molli self. I miss her waking me up in the morning with a waggy tail and puppy kisses. Seeing her sad makes me wanna cry, she is so happy usually. I will watch her- I never wanna give her vaccines again :( |
Aw! Poor Molli! Separating the vaccs is better bc each one can produce more antibodies that way. Right now her immune system is trying to accommodate all those vaccs at the same time... some pups are sickly up to 7-8 days! I'd just let her eat canned if that's what she wants... and it'll just take time for the vaccs to clear her system. I'd keep her away from other dogs (not in the same house) and leave her home till she feels better. Praying for a speedy recovery.... |
Usually such reactions only last for 24 - 48 hours. I would call the vet and speak with him/her. That way it can be noted on her records. Definitely better to separate the vaccines in the future. Hope she is feeling better soon. Poor baby. :( |

i agree i seperate the vacs no matter. i had cedric get real sick the first time and ill never do that again. i hope molli is feeling better asap. |
Molli has a hot spot! She seems like she is feeling better today but this morning I noticed she is chewing her butt in the spot the vaccines were given. It looks like a hot spot! And before she hasn't really wanted to show me her belly but I figured it was because she didn't feel good then last night I saw it and it's all RED! :( I feel so horrible! I guess I take for granted Molli is usually my 'healthy one'. Chibi is usually sensitive to vaccines but one Benadryl and he is fine, Molli has been getting Benadryl for 3 days now! I'm taking her in to the vet today- my poor baby! :cry8: |

Poor Molli :( Bogie had a reaction when I had all his vaccines done at one time..this was when we first adopted him and I had no idea to seperate them. He was lethargic for 4 days with benadryl and a visit to the vet because I was so worried. We always seperate vaccines now..and Jada has never had a reaction ,but its not worth the chance ,so we separate them for her too. I hope Molli is feeling back to herself really soon. |
Poor Mollie! Hope she's ok. My Vet wouldn't give Bella her shots all at once, now I know why! |
