| I received the results this evening. Not a lot of answers The biopsy indicates the changes in Ollie’s skin areconsistent with erythema multiforme (EM for short). It, too, is a type ofimmune system attack on the skin. Causes include: induced by: medications, underlyinginfection, and underlying illness, idiopathic (we don’t know the cause) EM can be mild and run its course without therapy. This isclearly not the case for Ollie. We can start immunosuppression with a single medication. Ifhe fails to respond then we will need to discuss next steps (food trial, changeHW/flea meds, etc) If he responds well but relapses as we taper therapy then wewill need to consider a two medications course of therapy and for a longerperiod of time. Predinsolone, 5mg , 2 tablets by mouth once every 24 hours You will likely note increased drinking, urination, appetiteand panting as a side effects of this medication. Serious side effects areuncommon. If anorexia (no appetite), vomiting, severe weakness or dark, tarrystools are noted, this could indicate a more serious side effect (such asstomach ulcer) and we should be notified. Continue pentofiylline Recheck 30 days

| We missed pics this week but here is the link again of Ollie's progress. I will be adding more by tomorrow evening. We had to go to the vet on Saturday as he seemed disoriented and out of sorts. He wouldn't respond to me calling his name or seemed like he couldn't hear me or walk to me. He is just fine now and the vet didn't find anything with him. His tummy is a bit upset so we are starting Pepcid. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1&l=3e9746a0a1 Here is the link. forgot to add, that we are seeing progress with his ears!

| So glad there is progress. From what you wrote, Ollie does not have cutaneous vasculitis... correct? Instead he has EM? But, he is being treated with the same kind of medicine that would be used for this disease? Just wanted to add that when Piccolo's biopsy was first sent out they said she had something else. (I need to look it up what the report said, something like dermotomyocytis) Then we had the results sent out again. Her vet dermatologist said that she thought this was not correct, but the only way we would know for sure was to do a muscle? biopsy. I decided against that because it would be treated with the same medicine and why put her through that. Anyway, I guess there is a group of diseases that are close to each other that can be treated with pentoxyphilline and prednisone. Thanks for the update and sounds like Ollie is doing well.

| https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?... &l=3e9746a0a1 Here are Ollie's updated pics, scroll to the bottom for the latest. All of his scabbies are just about gone. The steroids cleared it up. We have gone to just pred now every other day. Hes doing great and he didn't gain any weight!!!! I did switch their food to Limited Ingredient Duck Instinct Grain Free , they love it. Ive added in no salt added peas and green beans to help curb his appetite. He may have minimal scarring but we will take scarring. He looks like a new Ollie since he was groomed (also in the album)

| He does look like he is doing well. (As I said before, the prednisone was a miracle drug for Piccolo and her vasculitis.) And scars, as you said, no big deal!
