Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I don't have any experience with this, but just wanted to drop off some good thoughts and support as you and Mimi figure this out. So sorry she is going thru this, poor kiddo!

I'm currently having issues with Bogey's anal glands that began in early January. His left gland is scarred from an infection that literally came from nowhere My husband took him for one of the visits and went on when I came home for 20 minutes about how poor Bogey screamed in pain while the vet did the exam and expression of his impacted glands. The vet has been re-examining him about every 2-3 weeks, he's been on an antibiotic twice already and he's said they will teach me to do it the proper way for the future. Additionally, I had a very old foster day Truman several years ago who had an Anal Adenoma (benign growth). He was not neutered until he became a member of YHR. The vet explained that unaltered male dogs are very prone to this condition because hormones from being left intact and just another reason to neuter.
