| ![]() Just now reading this and it is frightening! Thank goodness you live near enough to get her to an emergency vet. I cannot imagine having a dog or human loved one and having to live far from emergency help - would scare me to death. I hope it was that food that she ate and no disease process that she has. Sounds like she seized and stopped breathing in the process while her brain was misfiring. If you had been away, likely you would have come home to a tragedy. I'm hoping and praying she is still doing okay and no more incidents.

| ![]() Usually with contaminated food a dog will start having stomach upsets and diarrhea over a period of time. It will continue to get worse gradually. It's not like they eat it and have a sudden onset of what happened to your dog. If she had been having diarrhea and other gastrointestinal symptoms before this incident then perhaps it is the food. But if she just suddenly started seizing like that then it could be something else. I hope she is continuing to improve for you. |

| ![]() Forgive me, my mind /memory aint what it used to be...but there is a mold that is a neurotoxin....it was in dry dog food years ago, and even horse feed....and it was an immediate knock down for pets like dogs and cats....horses got BAD case of colic and then went down....so it is possible this was the same mold in this dog kibble..... |

| ![]() If there is any question about the food you were feeding it should be reported to the FDA. If you have the bag or the numbers on the UPC that would help to. If it was dog food that hurt your dog you have a chase against the company and you could try to recoup your expenses. |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | ![]() Thanks for all the replies/ help. I don't have the kibble bag because we put it into a food container and throw out the bag so there's no way for me to check ![]() I burp her now after, like a baby lol I'd rather she release any gas than be uncomfortable, etc. idk if it's gas she has, or what. My other dogs started to get upset stomach too and diarrhea, while they were still eatin the dry food. I got scared so i home cook for them too now and their stomachs seem ok, but i will watch the next few days.

I'm sorry your other dogs got sick. Were they eating that same dry food that Livvie was? Sorry, I am a bit confused on that one. Hope all dog food and treats have been thrown out and replaced. Maybe it was a bug, too...but that seizure activity sounds otherwise. Keeping Livie and your other dogs in my prayers.
