Help! Yogi is lethargic!

The prednisone, my wonderful vet lets me come in twice a day and they administer it. Yogi has always hated liquid meds, two grown adults and we can't get it, in his mouth! Vet found special pharmacy to compound this tiny dose into a treat so as soon as we get it we won't have to bring him in to vet for meds. He is walking fine and eating normally. Drinking more prob due to pred. Even took him for short walk since it 70 and sunny today. He loved it. So he seems comfortable and hopefully not in any pain. He licks the small bald spot from IV, also has small shaved spot on back of head from spinal. But he is the most adorable puppy ever. Thanks again for all the support. We are all just crazy about our Yorkies!

That is such a great idea to get the pharmacy to make the meds into a treat!!
I am happy to hear Yogi is feeling better today and was able to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and sun. Yay!!

And yes...we are all crazy about our Yorkies. They have some sort of power to make us this way. I think we are just well trained humans

Prayers for little Yogi. I hope that was a wrong diagnosis and he will be all healed up and live a long, happy life. Whatever happens, we must remember the Lord is in charge of our lives and those of our precious yorkies. We have a day of birth and a day of death and only He knows when those days occur. Until then enjoy the days and be happy for the time we have with each other and our Yorkies!

OK, so prayers seem to have been answered!! Neurologist called, there is no infection shown on spinal fluids, this is what we hoped for. He feels that there is a very good chance that Yogi could have a full recovery!! So happy and relieved. He is doing one more test (for distemper) which will give results Monday. Yogi definitely had his vaccine for this so I doubt he has it but will be relieved Monday when I hear. He continues to improve and act more like himself Last night he ran off with my glasses which he had not done in 2 weeks since this began! Then he chewed his bully stick which he had not done either! His chewy treats/medication arrived and he loves it so administering it will be easy. Thanks again for all prayers, advice and warm words of encouragement. Will continue to post as our baby recovers.
