| The tiny speck of blood could be from them eating foreign matter, like grass & other plants. Turbo ate some grass & flower the other day & I tried to get it out of his mouth but he had already swallowed. He had some blood in his stool & he's ok now, back to normal stool. If it continues & her stool gets looser, more frequent, a vet visit is in order. Hope she'll feel better soon. Just fyi on deli fresh products, they use carrageenan in their rolls, most rolls & some canned foods has this controversial ingredient. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...rrageenan.html

I hope everything turns out okay with Darla's stool sample. Hopefully, she'll be back to normal in no time!

| She had a stool this morning it did not look like there was blood to it but i also didnt give her any other food last night or yesterday besides her little kibble and water. There was a little blood twinge on the pee pad in my restroom, as she always wipes her but after going poo (LOL) but nothing on the poo. The stool results should be in today. |

| Right after I brought Lexi home she had a small spec of bright red blood on the potty pad by her poop. Her vet appt. was the next day. Her stool sample was normal. The vet said that her blood vessels in that area were so small that the straining caused some of them to break. She said it was normal and nothing to worry about. It happened one more time and never again. Hopefully, this is what happened with Darla.

| Praying for Darla. I have a feeling she just got a hold of a little something she shouldn't have and will be better soon. No blood in this morning's stool is a good sign

| So stool results are back and she has Giardia, they are giving her 2 types of meds a liquid for 10 days and a powder that i put on her food. I'm shocked as shes not eating poop, i give her bottle water every day in her water dish. Could this be something possibly from the Denver Kennels when she stuck in Denver for that Blizzard? Today there is still mucos blood before and after her stools. They've been hard but before i left this morning, she had her first green runny poop. Poor baby scoots her bum on my floor to get the mucos off her even though i'm wiping her when I'm home I hope these meds work and kick in quick. |

| Giardia definitely could have been picked up from the Denver kennels. It's a parasitic infection that you can only get from ingesting the cysts from infected fecal material. In kennels, it's typically ingested from contaminated water. It's extremely common for any dog in a kennel to contract Giardia. Most all of the dogs in mills have Giardia. If you're just seeing her symptoms now, there's a good chance she got it in Denver...or somewhere along her route. Symptoms start within 1-3 weeks of contracting it. I only know this because I have 2 rescues that were born in a mill. Change her water a lot & wash your hands a lot. Humans can catch it. One of my pups had it. No one in my house caught it. I don't mean to scare you. I just wanted you to be aware.

| It sounds like you'll be fine then. I'm so sorry she caught Giardia in addition to having to go through the long journey to come home to you. I hope she feels better soon!
