| My vet is fairly new to me and I've only had to go to her a couple times. I do remember when Ruby came down with kennel cough last summer one of her big concerns was to calm the cough. She said something about coughing too much too hard could start or aggravate CT. I've never read that and like I said my vet is new to me but so far she has been good with my girls!!!!

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I had my Gracie with a severe CT years ago. Thunder would send her in to a breathing fit. I lived in fear of storms. They treated her with meds but when she would have a real bad spell she would need to be kept over at the er vet in an oxygen cage. She developed the CT at 5 years of age. She was maintained for a year and a half on meds and er visits. Gracie's CT was very severe. My Zorro had it and lived a normal life as long as he didn't get too stressed out. It is a scary condition. I will keep Mini in my prayers. They can do a lot with medicines these days.

| Sending prayers for Mini & comforting hugs for you! I've read that they can get an attack from being excited...there was a post awhile back about a shot (or was it meds?) being good for CT...let me look for it, hope someone posts the link too.

| I am so sorry I hope she gets better and can come home soon. Keeping you and her in my prayers. Callie has a mild case of collapsing trachea and has never gone really bad to where she couldn't stop. Sometimes it can get worse but there are times it stays the same. There was a thread about a new treatment for CT that seemed to be working well if I can find the post or if someone else can find it maybe they will post it for you.

| I have had a few pups with CT and each one was different. It is indeed a scary thing when they start having issues with breathing. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers...and you as well, Linzy. Scary stuff to deal with. I have tried different meds over the years (under vet supervision of course!) ...if you need any ideas, let me know.

Sadly, there really isn't anything that is a miracle for this terrible condition. It always bothers me to see that breeders continue to show and breed dogs with this condition or other dogs from lines that have it. I totally do NOT understand that kind of greed. Guess they think it is not genetic. I dunno....

| My sweet Gracie had CT all her life and Ashley also had problems, though they were not as severe. I had one bad flare up with Ashley that was difficult to control, but Gracie's was a lifelong problem. Gracie lived life full speed ahead, so it was difficult to keep her calm. It got steadily worse as she got older, and it put a great strain on her heart. The biggest thing that helped her was making sure her temperature didn't climb too high when she had an attack. I always had to keep iceblocks handy when we went out and submerging her or wetting her in the sink helped a lot. I didn't need to do anything like that with Ashley, however. I hope your little girl gets better very soon. If I can help in any way, please let me know. |

| I feel for poor little Mini and for you too, what a fright you both had. Hope the whiskey has helped you recover a little. At least Mini is in the right place and being treated, but she must be scared poor little babe. She will be fine soon so try not to worry. That is hard I know as you love her so much. Thoughts and prayers for you and Mini. |
