Ask your vet if you can give Metacam instead...it is an anti inflammatory and a liquid.

LOL I resemble that kind of family. He is as sweet as he looks, well most of the time he is a terrier after all. Buster's groomer is really is great and he loves her.

Check to make sure that the front does not go around the neck so there is no pressure on the trachea. The stroller is a great idea as you just roll the stroller into the room you are in. They are safe and contained but you are free to move about with out the risk of them swinging into something and your hands are free.

Thanks for checking up on us =) We are doing ok last night was hard. He cried a lot so took him out of his little space and put some blankets on the floor and slept with him. Today he seems a little better. The problem is he keeps wanting to lay the leg he had surgery on. I don't know if that will hurt his leg or not. He keeps moving around trying to comfortable. I feel bad I don't know what to do. Its also hard to carry him because they put his stitches on the inside of his leg so I'm scared to hold him because his other foot will touch the stitches. I hope this get easier because its going to be a long 8weeks for both of us.

I know I felt so bad for Buster after his surgery. Try slipping you hand/arm between the back legs so the hand rests on the chest and the feet are on either side of your arm hanging down. Then use the other hand to make sure he is secure. I sometimes would put my other hand under Buster's feet so they just lightly touch my hand. I will get easier but it is a long 8 weeks. I don't think laying on it would be too bad but I honestly don't know maybe check with his surgeon. I think they are more concerned with quick sharp movements.
PS when did he have the surgery?

I would not worry about how he is laying on his leg. He is only going to do what he can tolerate. As for holding him, try to relax and not worry about it too much...I have found that it is best to keep the leg that was operated on away from my body. Other than that, I just hold them normally.

It will get easier for you ... it is just a bit nerve wracking at first.

He has his surgery yesterday. I can't believe its only be 27hrs!!
