| Armani has a neck problem... Armani was acting a bit strange yesterday but nothing I could put my finger on. He was eating and seemed ok...just laying around a lot. Well, this morning it became obvious that something was wrong with his neck. He was looking sad and his head was down in a hunched position. I took him to my vet and sure enough, it is his neck. My vet is treating it conservatively since there are no neuro symptoms right now (other than some fine tremors which she is not concerned about right now). He is on methocarbamol, dexamethasone, and tramadol. She did an xray and his spine looks great, but of course, discs don't show on xray. I am worried sick about him...kind of having flashbacks from 2004 when my Maxwell herniated two cervical discs and had to have surgery. Prayers and any tips to make him happier appreciated. He is very unhappy right now .. although he is lying in Gabby's crate with her. I just hate seeing his little sad face. In a little while, I am going to give him a warm bath...always helps when I have a muscle spasm...perhaps it will soothe him.

| Thanks, Lisa. He and his sister have always been my really healthy problem free pups. This has me very concerned.

| I hope the warm bath helps and it is just a strain and nothing more serious. He is such a cutie and I like to think of him as one of the YHR mascots for the dog show in Houston. |

| You already know how to do all the things I know how to do....sounds like he is on all the right drugs...I have found if you take a wet wash cloth, heat it in the microwave to get it really warm, then slip it into a zip lock plastic bag and place it on his little spine/neck area....(the plastic bag keep him from getting wet and keeps the heat in)...I do this moist heat on my babies sore muscles, the ladies mastitis, etc...they really love it and relax.... |

| Oh, no. I hate when there is anything neck or back related with these active little terriers! Hopefully it is muscular and no discs are involved with him. I use the moist heat on myself when I have resolving strains/sprains or an arthritic flare in my knee but I use the moisture directly on the skin to help the heat penetrate better with no plastic in between. Hard to do that on a little one without having to dry the hair with the hairdryer but my ortho docs always said moist heat is so much more effective than any dry heat in helping muscles relax & heal.

| Sending prayers your way for Armani. I hope he just has a strained or sprained muscle. Poor little guy. It is always so worrisome when our little ones are not feeling well, but we all know he has the best mommy around to make him feel better.
