| Hello. Sorry I think my time may be a little different to yours as I am in the UK. We have got a second recommended vet appointment booked in for today. They told me they were full but asked what was wrong. Upon explaining they have squeezed us in before surgeries. I don't think I will be leaving without an answer. Milo was unsettled and constantly waking to serious sneezing and wheezing fits last night. He has only just got up today (11am) and is still lethargic and falling asleep. I am terrified that he is deteriorating before my eyes. I'm praying that I am being an over reactive parent but last time I thought that he ended up on the drip. I will let you all know how it goes when we have visited the vet. I can only thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. xx |

| Praying for sweet Milo. I'm so glad they are going to see him soon! You are doing all you can do. Hang in there. I'm sure this place understands how important it is (or they wouldn't have made space on the schedule for him)...they'll get you some answers.

| She is concerned as his tonsils and glands are very swollen - his airways are almost closed his throat is so swollen. He is going back tomorrow to be put under general anaesthetic so she can have a look in his chest nose and throat , as well as take swabs and blood tests. The vet is concerned about infection, blockage and throat cancer - so covering all possibilities. She will also be taking tests for his liver as she is concerned that his poo has been soft / runny and quite orange at times. She doesnt think it is lungworm at all. he has been given steroids by injection tonight to reduce some swelling for examination tomorrow. I am so frightened but relieved we will be getting some answers now. I am really disappointed in my original vet and will not be going back there |

| Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I am glad the second vet is really proactive. I am so sorry little Milo is not doing so good but it seems like he is in good care. Good luck with the procedure. Good thoughts and blessings go out to Milo and you. Hugs

| Hello guys. So sorry for the late update. Things are a little stressful right now. Last vet visit (Friday) milo's swelling had gone right up again so he was put back on steroids. He is taking 4 different types of medicine. He has started to pick up in himself and is a lot more cheerful and wants to play. However, we have had some worrying news. The bloods came back and have showed that his kidneys have got something wrong with them and that his glands are showing early signs of lymphoma (cancer) but no cells are actually present. We are still awaiting swabs to tell is exactly what is infecting his insides. Out vet has said the fact that he is responding to medication is a good sign and that he could well be on the road to recovery. However, I am still worried sick because she told me the above also - how can he be recovering if this is the case??? I hate the waiting for the results. She has said she thinks his immune system was very low from when he had a case of kennel cough in the summer and never fully recovered. He then may have got something on top of that, and on top of that etc and his body just crashed / couldn't cope. She likens it to almost when people get glandular fever and have the stuffing knocked out of them for months after. I am praying that this is the case but cannot relax until those swabs come back. She believes his kidneys etc are inflamed due to the illness in the body already. As his heart etc were also all swollen on the X-rays!! But his urine isn't concerntrated enough, his blood levels were a bit high etc so does indicate issues with kidneys. He will need futher bloods soon to keep an eye on that. We are currently not allowed any vistors or contact with other dogs as another infection could make him seriously sick or kill him as his immune system has ht rock bottom. We are back to the vets tomorrow and hopefully the swabs will have arrived. His glands feel swollen again tonight despite the steroids so I am feeling a little sad. Thank you so much for the thoughts and concern, I will update tomorrow x |
