Uggg - $800, that ALOT! Check with the surgeon that will be doing her surgery. Ask how many he / she has done - remember, you are paying for this and you have the right to ask. Make sure you feel comfotable with the Dr. At some point, when you feel comfortable with the Dr., etc., you have to have faith! I had lots of tears and sleepless nights where I just worried about Lola, but I knew I had to do something.....Becky is lucky to have you as her mama, to have you fighting for her....

No, never any seizures or side effects from the surgery. We never even had to take the pain meds after about 3 days. Lola did great. I feel very fortunate that things went as well as they did. I was very lucky - lucky that I could take her and lucky that things went well. You have to do the best you can do - and it sounds like that is what you are doing. Like I said before, she's lucky to have you!

Yes, she eats on her own now. I never, ever worry about her eating. She has gained weight - she is still small, about 4 lbs, but so active and full of life. She runs and plays and twirls and is a mess! It took her a while to start eating because I think it was still a habit, but just a couple of weeks. It was not overnight. I still worry about her because she thinks she is about 30 lbs and can do anything.

No, after surgery I never had to worry about feeding her. I worried constantly before surgery. They did spay her during the shunt surgery and took her baby teeth out. I did not want to pay to have her put under anesthetia twice. And it seemed safer to do it all at once. I did not want to put her "under" any more than necessary. When is your appointment?
