You know you can call the Hospital & check up on her, as many times as you like. They are familiar with crazy doggy mommies like all us yorkie moms. When any of mine go in for a simple dentistry, I call at least 3 times before the Dr is done with the dental, lol.

just called the vet theres a little improvement ... shes sitting in her kennel ... its not much but its a vast improvement.. i dont think ive ever been so happy to hear that shes sitting... still weak. still critical.. but at least sitting up on her own

Well this is a good sign. Do you know what their next step will be ? have they done any more x-rays to see if the bones have moved at all ?

not sure yet... so far they want to see how she'll do in the morning... if everything is ok then we'll set up the next steps right before the vet clocks out of her shift and make a plan for the day.... were hoping her blood cell count goes up at least a little... thats what were praying for...

You mentioned earlier something about CT I think ? I would question that as they already said it's bone & bone will show in x-ray so not sure what would be the point in CT. I am surprised they have not taken another x-ray though, to see where those pieces of bone are now compared to earlier. Also, do they have her on antibiotics to prevent infection ?

sitting is good perhaps she is gaining strength from the transfusion and the nutrients from the IV, getting her stable they said was important, hopefully that is happening.

they have been giving her antibiotics.... i think theres another x ray planned for the morning... were hoping she's starting to recover... theyve been giving her so much stuff i was worried it would do more damage then good...

that is what we are hoping... she still is quite alert and looking around.... thats our little lilo for you... sick but still curious... im hoping to visit in the morning... have my roommate go in and say hello.. i know i can't or ill cry but i just want someone i trust to tell me shes all right.

CT is done to visualize soft tissue detail. If bone were present, they might want to see detail to see what the bone did to soft tissue, if they can see a tear/tears or a tumor or any number of things they are looking for. With a dog that ill, I would imagine they have to look for all causes of severe anemia, not just the first thing that might come to light. It can show the state of organs and if there are tears or ruptures in them. Even if she had a bone in her GI tract, it may not be tearing anything.
