MYLICON Infant Gas Drops| Safe for the Newest of Newborns. Hylands is FDA and USDA tested in manufacturing as well their own clinical labritory. The USDA owns the terms organic and homeopathic so items labled as such must do so with their approval...not to say there aren't items out there snuck in-they get caught eventually but its hard to regulate every product. I do agree through Hyland's teething tablets contain belldona a substance I don't consider infant safe even in the form and amount used. Of course I'm 'one of those' I don't use any petroleum based products period especially on infants. Like we use HPA lanosil lanolin and aunt Patty's coconut oil as diaper ointment...

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() Just got off the phone with my vet. As far as X-rays go with her stomach things look very good. She did say the swelling that I was explaining could very well be from her bacteria overgrowth that she also suffers from. I feel like an idiot because duh... I know this.. I am to up the dosage of her Tylan powder. We lowered it a few months ago and now coming to think of it.. On the old dose she was doing excellent.. and now we are experiencing flair ups.. She is doing bloodwork and in suit will follow an ultrasound. This way we will be able to take a closer look at everything in there, intestines, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, etc. The ultrasound will be within the next week. She decided against the BAT test as she felt an ultrasound would be the next best step to really look at everything. The sad news.. On her x-rays of course her back bones show up.. and she found The few discs right before her tail, are completly diffused together. She is putting on a very low dose of Tramadol that actually is goes on her ear tip, so this will not interfear with her very sensitive GI system. She says this could be why she is waking up in pain.. Things have finally settled down from daily activities and this is why she is waking up in jerky pain. I am not sure on the length of therapy she will need from this or what we are up against. I am still shocked. Soooo that is where I am at now.. My head is spinning right now with questions... But we are getting answers and headed in the right direction.

| ![]() I'm glad you got some answers! Poor Taycie girl, she just can't catch a break. It sounds like things are positive, but admittedly, I know next to nothing about back/vertebra/etc issues. I'll be thinking of you and Taycie though!

| ![]() I know it isn't the best news but it's such a good thing that these issues were found now and you can get right on track. Hoping for a speedy recovery and that the ultrasound will just confirm an adjustment in meds being needed.

| ![]() Well, poor sweet Taycie, she's been dealing with a couple of bad things and they break your heart to think they can't tell us verbally; but if we "listen" like you did, they can make a themselves heard all the same. Thankfully you listened, got her in for a looksee and the vet is going to get her squared away. It's just so sad to see our little ones sick or suffering and it totally disrupts our lives when they are not right! I'm praying the vet will find out all that all is going on and get her covered with treatments and bring her back around to feeling herself before too long. There's nothing good enough for our babies and it sounds like she's in as good as place as possible for getting all the help she is going to need to get well. Little Taycie is blessed to have the mommie she has and it's so good to know she's going to feel better with treatment. Hopefully nothing else bad will show up and that's what I'm praying for. I know what you are going through as do most of us - it is tense & so scary - & we'll be here for you and praying for you, too, Mommie. Thank you for keeping us updated.

| ![]() The disks are soft squishy things in between the vertebrae that cushion them. The vertebrae are individual bones with a hole in the center that houses the spinal cord (a group of nerves, looks kind of like a telephone cable) and runs from the top of the neck to the tail. Sometimes vertebrae are fused together during surgery to provide stability in the spine. Sometimes disks are removed in surgery when they cause a problem or become damaged. I don't know how big a problem this is, unless a disk or a nerve is being pinched in the process.

| ![]() Taycie remains in my prayers. Praying that the ultrasound returns good news. Did the doctor indicate whether her spine issue is a congenital condition or if it is caused by injury?

| ![]() Something that is a big help for pups who can't poop or have problems expressing their anal glands is adding unsweetened canned pumpkin to their diet. If they are constipated, feed only the canned pumpkin and not their regular food until they potty. If it's being done to keep them regular and/or bulk up the stools so that they can express their anal glands, just add some to their food. ![]() |
