Something that is a big help for pups who can't poop or have problems expressing their anal glands is adding unsweetened canned pumpkin to their diet. If they are constipated, feed only the canned pumpkin and not their regular food until they potty. If it's being done to keep them regular and/or bulk up the stools so that they can express their anal glands, just add some to their food.
