| I am so sorry You said they were going to give her morphine, maybe it was too much for her, in combination with the other drug? Or she was having a reaction to the Rimadyl? I hope that you can get some answers

| This is too SAD!!! I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!!!! It scares me that some vets don't take into consideration that yorkie's are tiny and they can't take the same doses as other dogs. Not that this happened in your situation. Our baby had a horrible reaction to her shots in March because she was given 5 shots at once and she weighs just under 4 lbs it took weeks for her to recover, but what happened to sweet Ally is way worse. It breaks my heart!!!. . . . RIP sweet Ally . . . .

| Now I am scared. I had an appointment to get my 8 month old Zoe spayed and then she went into heat so I had to cancel and I have rescheduled. I have put it off because of this very reason and now I am uptight again. I am so sorry you lost your baby. I can't even imagine. |

This is what worries me. Gracie is only 4 lbs, and I can't for the life of me get her spayed. It scares me too. I am so sorry for what happened to little Ally. My heart just breaks.

| "This is what worries me. Gracie is only 4 lbs, and I can't for the life of me get her spayed. It scares me too. I am so sorry for what happened to little Ally. My heart just breaks. " It is imperitive that if you own a small dog, a toy dog, but especially a Yorkie, you must know if your vet is experienced in caring for small dogs, toy breeds, and if you have one that specializes in Yorkies, you have struck a gold mine! A vet is not a vet is not a vet....They all have general vet knowledge, but it is just like any human doctor....you take your infant to a pediatrician......a doctor that specializes in babies and children....they specialize in the special requirements of babies....When I have my new owners talk with a vet they are looking at to take care of their baby, a couple of the questions is how many Yorkies do you see in your office monthly/annually. How many toy breeds are seen monthly/annually? Is there a vet on staff that specializes in toy breeds or even Yorkies? These are important attributes to look for in your vet. There are definate differences in these toy breeds/small dogs, and Yorkies have additional traits and idiosyncrisies that require special knowledge.
