| Update on Buddy Hi everyone, Buddy in great form today, he is being spoilt rotten by all the staff at the hospital. One of the surgeons took him home with her last night so she could keep an eye on him and she kept him in her bed!! He did really well last night and is eating great today. They rang me today to tell me I can collect him tomorrow after I finish school! I cannot wait! so excited to see him!

| Protein Foods Collecting Buddy in 3 hours cannot wait! The vets have recommended that I introduce some foods with protein into his diet, one small amount daily. Have you any nice ideas of foods that ye would give your guys....i know there's chicken, white fish, natural yogurt.....any other ideas would be really appreciated!

| Dee, I am not going to be much help. Lola had her surgery and had her Bile Acids retested 6 months after the surgery. Her numbers were still high, so they told me that besides the very large shunt that she had repaired, she also had very microscopic veins (shunts) that were going to always cause her Bile Acids to show abnormal (MVD). She is allowed to have proteins, but I am very careful about what she eats because she has done so well since surgery 3 yrs ago. My little male is on hypoallergenic food and it is easier to feed them both the same thing, so she eats that and has done GREAT on it. I don't panic if she gets protein, and she does get chicken occasionally as a treat and does fine when she gets that. I am so happy that Buddy gets to come home today! Please keep us posted.... |

| Hi everyone, i apologise for the delay in posting. we have moved house and only got internet set up last night. Buddy is in great form. He got his stitches out last night and the vet commented on how great he was doing. He is still on all medication and on his hepatic diet and will be for another while. He will get his bloods retested in about 5/6 weeks to see if his Bile acid scores have come down. Its so great seeing him full of energy and not sick! Thanks for all your prayers and apologies again for the delay in posting

| Dee, it's good to hear Buddy is doing well. He should continue to improve. It's funny, there is such a bond between these little ones that we save and ourselves. It's almost as though we needed them as much as they needed us! He is lucky to have you. Good thoughts coming your way from Texas! |
