| Ohmygoodness - the poor baby has the tummy issues on top of trying to recoop from surgery! I totally missed that in your posts. What a terrible, terrible time she is having! I'll bet that little Yorkie has just about had it with life and the way it's treating her. Bad knee and now bad tummy to go with. Too much for any little one to have to deal with. Hope your baby's treatment works as well as Tibbe's did when he had his tummy troubles!

| I'm glad she's resting and they got rid of the Metacam. Let us know how she is doing later. I know going to the vet takes it out of them. Not their favorite place!

| Muffin used to do the same thing. Kacee doesn't get that nervous. In fact, she always sleeps in the waiting room!!!! Muffin would start shaking if I turned down the street that took us to the clinic. I always hated to take her there.

| Layla had a sick tummy this morning Although her gums were just fine She had a good day after the vet and a good day yesterday- no tummy problems but woke up this morning not wanting to eat. I forced apple sauce into her and got her to eventually eat a few treats but she doesn't want her breakfast- I"ll try again in an hour. Our vet is closed today but we see the surgeon tomorrow (although I'm sure they will tell me to call our vet) but I'll call our vet in the morning. I am so frustrated and sad that I don't know what is causing this all of a sudden. |

| On the plus side, her knee is doing great. We go tomorrow to have the stitches removed. |

| Great to hear...... is she still on Metcam or pain meds that would be affecting her tummy? I think I read that you stopped the Metcam...... Seymour didn't eat as much as normal for the first 10 days.... he would leave food in his bowl which is a rare thing for him... but he has his appetite back now. Wishing Layla good luck tomorrow.... Seymour was fortunate that he had no stitches that needed to be removed. The inner stitches dissolved and he had some kind of adhesive on the outside which looked good and worked well (thankfully!) Keep us posted!

| Layla Hello. So sorry your baby is feeling sick after her surgery. Hope she is better after all the meds clear out. I know my little one was really sick after his surgery and the vet originally thought it was all the heavy duty drugs (including Pred. and Pepsid etc) he was on post-op. However after most meds were stopped he still had GI issues. They then (AT LAST!!!) looked into that and found he had esophagitis. That was treated with an antacid for ulcers etc and he got better soon. It seems he got acid reflux in his esophagus during the surgery and it got eroded. The Pepsid he took post op did not help at all, by the way! Now he is fine and eating well with no upsets. I do however to be on safe side give him a night time small meal to tide him over night. Even if this is the problem with Layla it will get better soon. Or if she has a sensitive stomach, it would not be abnormal to have effects from the drugs and trauma after surgery. Get well Layla. (Then Momma will feel better too!) |
