| Please HELP!!!!! =/ My 3 year old yorkie has had diarrhea for three days now. She has been drinking water and eating well, even though she has been acting a little strange and not herself. Today, she has not been wanting to eat anything she has had water intake, but no food. Her diarrhea is like a real dark brown color and it almost looks like pudding. I called the vet and he advised to giver her pepto and take her off her regular food, to try and give her plain white rice, chicken or cottage cheese. I really want to avoid taking her to the emergency vet, everytime we are there the only thing they recommend is putting her to sleep. Is there aything I can give her or do to make her diarrhea go away.. PLEASE HELP!!! |

| The vet said to give it a few more days and if she did not get better to take her in so that they can check her. My little girl was diagnosed with kidney failure a few months ago and they told me the only option I had was to put her to sleep because there was no recovery for her. I refused to put her down and brought her home and now after almost a year from that she is doing better. But not she has this terrible diarrhea and I don't know what to do. She currently does not have a fever. |

| When I first got Yuna, she had diarrhea constantly for a few days. I didn't know what was going on. I got a stool sample to my vet and the results came back that she had Giardia, I am not sure if this applies to you since your little girl had kidney failures before. Yuna got medicine for her giardia and everything was fine after... In my opinion, I wouldn't wait any more days... bring sample to the vet in a ziplock bag if you have to and make sure its fresh. |

Do you remember what kind of medicine your baby girl took? They told me to give her pepto. I've only given her once though, I was afraid to give it to her. | |

| She should be seen at the vet asap. These little ones can go downhill pretty quickly Until you can get to the vet, you might try feeding her a teaspoon of plain canned pumpkin. Any time diarrhea goes on for more than a day, they need medical attention. I hope your darling feels better soon!!!

| I'm sorry your going through what your going through, really I am; however, your precious little baby MUST be seen by a vet ASAP. Honey, no matter what, that poor little baby is dehydrated, based on what your saying. They tell you to put her to sleep? Tell them no and that you want her treated for the acute problem at hand=diarrhea and dehydration. Also, I don't know "from here" what is going on with your pup, I wish I did, but if the vets are telling you that she is terminally ill and needs relief...you need to make sure that your pup is not suffering, she is depended on you for her care, whatever that may be. Please, regardless of anything, have that poor pup seen immediately.

| I always keep regular orange Gatorade (not sugar-free, not G-2) on hand in case my pup is sick. I pour a little in a small bowl & I also freeze some, as sometimes even when they won't drink, they will eat frozen cubes.

As for your emergency vet, I would be looking for a new one. Let us know how things are going.
