I'm only asking because Max was in a similar situation a while back. He hurt his hip because he fell off a couch. I restricted his activity but it wasn't
that restricted. Sometimes I would let him rest all day in his kennel and when he would come out he would walk with a normal gait and then all of a sudden start limping again. This went on for a couple of weeks. When I finally restricted his activity for a full 7 days (barely even any walking) he was as good as new.
The doctor's visit may give you more insight.
