We live in Arizona and the news said the rattlesnakes are out early this year so we're being extra careful. And more so now, after reading your sad news. I pray that your other babies stay safe during this horrible snake season.

my heart still aches for you, your husband and your other pups, I think about you allot. As Nancy said one day at a time, hopefully you DH talks about it with you, some men hold things inside, but everyone grieves differently. My first yorkie Reggie, died suddenly and there was a lot of his hair in the brush, I removed it and put in a box. It's been 20 years and I still have it. After my last yorkie Kirby died I would not clean the glass pain next to the door for close to a year because it had his nose prints on it. I always needed their presence and pictures, around, yet I have friends that feel better with no reminders. Do what is best for you and you DH and know that all of us on YT are here for you.

Strange, I had a dream about a snake biting my dog, just last night. Ranger encountered a snake before for real and I said, "no", and he turned around and walked off. We need to train dogs to avoid them like the plague and bark real loud like they just found something. It's just that you don't run into snakes every day. I'm thinking maybe we can introduce them to some small, non-poisonous snakes in their training? It's the curiosity that kills them, or maybe that they don't realize they are not prey.

Really sorry to hear about all this. That is my worst nightmare, and I mean that quite literally.

I have had dogs all my life and never had a rattlesnake encounter.

I am so very sorry! We have the same problems as you...coyotes and rattlesnakes. I actually ran over and killed a baby rattler with my lawnmower last week. I am praying for you and your family. This is so, so sad.
