Strange, I had a dream about a snake biting my dog, just last night. Ranger encountered a snake before for real and I said, "no", and he turned around and walked off. We need to train dogs to avoid them like the plague and bark real loud like they just found something. It's just that you don't run into snakes every day. I'm thinking maybe we can introduce them to some small, non-poisonous snakes in their training? It's the curiosity that kills them, or maybe that they don't realize they are not prey.
Really sorry to hear about all this. That is my worst nightmare, and I mean that quite literally.
