I'm so sorry to hear this tragic news! My heart goes out to you and your family. I just can't imagine the pain you're feeling. Poor little Mogee! God be with you all!

OMG!!! So sorry for your little baby!!! Dangers everywhere. I live in New York in an apartment and worry about Milesy going to the dog runs or playing ball without a leash outside wishing I had a backyard sometimes for him to play in. We have to be careful with these guys no matter where we live.

So sorry for your loss!!!!

Thougth I would give you guys a update on the grieving process. Oni the TEAPOT (17lb) of the family is carrying a small toy animal around with him which he really hardly ever did before Mogee's death. He will not sit in my husband's lap but on the floor. You have to understand EVERY night Oni and Mogee for sure and sometimes Bella (she usually with me) would be in Dad's lap. Both have gone and sat in Mogee's cage and just looked like "where is he?" Bella is dealing with it by being by me or sleeping 24/7. Mogee was her brother but different litter. Mogee LOVED Bella. They would spend long periods of times licking each other and playing together. Mogee would come up to us and his face would be wet and hair like WILD and we would say.".Did you get kissed today?"
Oni I think is so upset that he had allegeries before but now is scratching all the time. I am trying different medication on him to find which one helps but I think the death has got him all out of wack.
I am not even going to go into my husband's mourning. Too painful.
Me well I am writing about it on YT and allowing the healing power of God to comfort me.
I had this false allusion that the vacine would protect but he did not have a chance. If Mogee's kidney had not shut down and he could have gotten rid of the poison he would have had a better chance the vet say.
Anyway, thought I would check in and let you know what is going on at my house. Ready to see the dogs barking and playing. One day.

I do not know if this information will help but maybe if I share it will.
When Bunkey passed away suddenly last year, his twin and only litter mate Buddie was so lost without him. They napped together, they even pottied in the same place in the yard. They were both 9yrs old at the time and had not ever been apart for more than 2 or 3 hours. Buddie was heart broken and depressed and so was I. It may sound weird but I would hold him in my lap and tell him how much I missed his brother. Bunkey was MY baby. Buddie never cuddled with me before, he belongs to my daughter. I took the time to explain to Buddie and our other poodle Skittles (half brother to the twins) what had happened, why the Dr couldnt help, and again how much I hurt too.
I know that people say dogs dont understand but I think that they do. I believe deep down that Buddie and Skittles started to understand and they have healed slowly. A year has passed and I dont catch Buddie looking for his brother anymore. Skittles doesnt get in my lap and just stare into my eyes anymore.
My heart hurts so much for all of you and I truely hope that time will bring some healing to each of you.

God will carry you through this as you heal. I am so very sorry. I can't even begin to imagine the pain your feeling. Just want you to know you all are in my prayers.

I have not stopped thinking of you since your very first post about this terrible event. I had written an article on snake bites and anti venom and snake bite vaccinations last year for a small publication....and all that I had learned from that research came washing back over me and I was very worried...held out hope and prayed hard for a good outcome, but....... I wanted to come back and just say I have not stopped thinking about you, Mogee, and the rest of your family since the beginning....I am so sick at my stomach and my heart actually hurts for you and the pain and grief you are experiencing now. I continue to pray for strength and peace and healing for you and your family....

I just saw this and tears are pouring down my face. I am so sorry for your loss. I have a cat that got bit by a copperhead on his neck in November, but he pulled through. The vet said it was because the venom was low because the snake was about to hibernate. It was an awful site to see. Snakes have always scared me and I do not like to see them. My heart breaks for your family!!! Pets are family!!! I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

God love your heart, I think all of us here at YT watch our babies like a hawk. You would never think there would be such a danger right on your back porch. You and your family will be in prayers.
