| Someone who has been through that would know how to answer you. Outside of taking away her toys and taking her for car rides and stuff like that, I don't really have any ideas off the top of my head. Limiting her space would probably help some. Poor Wosie!

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Any advice is welcome. Try to be nice to me, though, I am pretty messed up right now. I'm shaking. Wosie, on the other hand, seems to not have a care in the world! She's eating well, drinking water, is on pain meds so she's pain free, and is sleeping peacefully in her box on the floor next to me. Sigh... omg ! OMG....I am sooo sorry to hear this. My little Oliver, 9 months old was playing with his brother and rolled off a pillow on the floor landed on his front leg....Quick trip to the ER and he had broken leg. The splinted it and said to leave it for 2 week, which I did, and then bring him to my regular vet. Which I did.....Sigh....I am a total wreck and feeling faint and nausea too.... Bring him to my vet in 2 weeks and he x-rays and says leg is not healing and surgury is needed to put pin or plate in. So, with me swallowing a valium I bring him in for surgery by orthopedic surgeon....Yes, cost unbelievable. They did have to put a plate in .But thankfully Oliver is totally fine now, only 6 weeks later and runs and jumps on that leg. Your baby Wosie will be alright.....just make sure you have the surgery done if at all possible, and check your vets credentials that he is an orthodpedist and not a general vet. Also question the type of anesthisia to be used and request Isiprophane (sp) without any prep anesthesia. I hope she will be fine and I will tell you another story after I hear how wonderful she is doing. Now, take care of yourself....I sure know the panic this causes and I really empathize with you. Take care and good luck.... STORMY |

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I pray that the surgery will go even better then expected and that both you and Wosie will be just fine. It is a horrifying experience to go through. And then the baby must be kept quiet for 6 weeks. That is the tough part since they are so active. I bought a pretty lined pouch type bag and just kept Oliver attached to me....He is now so spoiled...but very happy ! Good luck. STORMY |

| Jaspersmom, I am so sorry to hear about Wosie's accident and subsequent surgery. I don't mean to sound like this is no big thing, but as I read your posts, I thought poor hubby..he has Wosey, the dog; and Woosey-the wife. These babies can be hurt in the oddest little accidents....Give all your babies Smoochies from Rini's cuties.. |

| Oh my goodness I am having so much trouble keeping this munchkin STILL!! She is feeling really good, but it has only been 5 days since her surgery and I am supposed to keep her quiet for 12 weeks!! How the heck am I going to make it?? LOLOLOL Prior to her injury I had ordered one of those electronic mouse toys for her, and I am bummed she will not get to play with it until February! On the upside, Wosie has accepted her physical therapy from us as a quiet time, and will lie still and has allowed us to get 20 repetitions each time, whereas when we first started we were lucky if we could get 3 in without her turning into Miss Squirmy Worm. Thanks again for all your kind words and good thoughts passed our way! My baby is on the mend!

| I havnt been on here in so long, but today I had a phone call telling me that my Lily has died! She has always been at the vets office for her reg. checkups and then one day she just had a seizure at home. She was rushed tp the vet they said she was fine and to pick her up at 6pm. Then a call was received an hour later saying she had past away! How could this happen! What could of happened to my puppy! Only 3 years old. We are having an autopsy done from Cornell University. Has anyone ever expeirienced something like this before? Someone please write back ASAP!!! IT DOSNT MAKE SENSE! She has always been fine, wouldnt the vet detect that she had something wrong with her on one of her visits? That day they said her white blood count was 15,000 its suppose to be 5,000 then they said she had some type of disease. What I am upset about is that nobody has ever said anything to me about this at all when she went to any of her reg visits to the vet. Then one day we just find this out? Once we found out I will let all of you know |

I am so glad to hear your baby is on the mend.I certainly can empathise with you. I is such a harrowing experience to go thru. Thankfully she is on the mend now and will soon be her old self. The saddest thing for me, is that although Oliver is fine now from his broken leg surgery, last year I lost a beautiful 9 month old Yorkie from the same thing. He jumped off the bed. He died from anesthesia on the operating table. So enjoy your little one ....and be happy now....she will do fine ! STORMY |

| Glad, I can't believe she is actually letting your do the therapy so well! That is worth a million, isn't it? I've been trying to think of some way to entertain her without her running all over. Twelve weeks! Let me know how it goes. I can't imagine how you would entertain her. Especially, because I know how restless they get when they don't get exercise.
