| Hi ladyjane, Just wanted to clarify that I am not against vaccinations, and neither is my wholistic veterinarian who also happens to be a traditional vet. But she does say that over vaccination can and does occur. She has also told me that often times, the same amount of rabies vaccine is given to a tiny 3 lb yorkie as to a great dane. I believe her, but no one is saying not to vaccinate. Even my previous vet admitted this, the one who gave Muffin the shots, but she said she had no choice because it is the law. Well maybe the law needs to be changed. Basically, I think the whole vaccination thing needs to be reassessed, and perhaps some changes need to be considered. Some say, vaccine manufacturers have been said to dictate how much vaccine to give and how often to give them. I don't know if this is true, but I would not be surprised if it were. Right now, my two girls have strong titers and I hope they continue. Anyway, many vaccines are protective and are necessary for the health and well being of our little ones --and of ourselves as well. But many may not be. I think the whole subject may need to be revisited with the object of safer vaccinations for our babies as the final goal. |

| I have a problem wrapping my brain around the fact that this vet wants to treat this pup with Chemo without a definitive diagnosis, but then again, that's just my opinion. I will keep you and your pup in my prayers...

| Anyway, dionysios5, I am so happy that your baby is responding and is 80% better. This is HUGE and thrilling. If she is so much better and continues that way, maybe she won't even need the chemo. In any case, she is going in the right direction, one day at a time, even one minute at a time, if need be. I so look forward to more updates going in a positive direction. I am sending light and love to you and your little angel. Prayers and positive energy for continued progress until she is once again herself and totally recovered. Hang in there, you're going GREAT!!!! Love and kisses from Muffin, Cassie and Shellie :-) |

| Thanks for all the love My zoey is doing good we called the vet a week after we took her home which was past friday. The vet thought we were calling to update her with horrible news, when we told her she was still alive she was curious as to wether or not she can walk. I told her that not only is she walking but shes eating well, gained a bit of weight but that's normal according to the vet. We are to keep her on the cortisone liquid for a total of 1 month as she is showing great improvements. With every day her energy levels are increasing, she is sleeping less. Still not able to jump onto the couch or the bed with the steps we have, but were not going to force her to go anything, we removed all steps to deter her from trying anything before she is 100%. Her poop was very weird looking at first, it was HUGE but maybe thats the drugs making it take volume once its exposed to the air im not sure why it was as big as that but every day it looks better and better. Today her poop is back to normal. We found some cooking recipes for dogs, I used to be opposed to giving her human food but Ive changed my mind, she still eats plenty of her pebbles, but for lunch everyday she gets a home made beef stew Her head tilt is barely noticeable and she does seem slightly disbalanaced but again this is another feature that is improving. I am convinced this dog is alive because of all the love that surrounds her, dont get me wrong the cortizone definitely helped with the inflammation of the brain but I sincerely think that exposing your dog to as many people as possible and letting them love is the most important thing. Nothing makes her happier than when any of my 3 brothers or my sister in law come over and shower her with kisses. Were not out of the woods yet, need to stay realistic we have another 3 weeks of cortisone to go but NEVER give up, my spouse almost did given the state she was in when we brought her for the MRI and spinal tap and I am sure that had I given up too our dog would not have pulled through. Keep loving to keep living |

| Update Thanks for all the wishes and kisses Zozo is going just fine right now, shes gained some weight which I don't mind. She used to weigh 2.8 pounds and after they put hes on cortisone she gained 1.2 pounds. She looks a lot healthier I did find her to be a bit boney before. We are weening her off of the drug from 1.7 cc to 1.3cc and down again next week. She is her self again, fetching her tiny ball and missing the pipi pad on occasion. The only difference now is I do not give her doggy treats anymore, instead i give her 1 pebble of pedigree regular food that my parents give their dog. She does not eat her poop anymore, she used to do it often before in correlation with her treats consumption. Other difference is the height of her leaps, Im guessing it has something to do with the weight gain. It was mild on the weekend and we took her for he first walk of the year outside and did not have any problems, ball training is working for me. I am soooooooo happy everything is working out, I realized the cortisone is still in her so were not out of the woods yet but this little ray of light completely changes both my wifes and I's quality of life. |

| I just wondered if eating poop could cause an infection that could cause encephalitis. Anybody have any thoughts on that? Were her treats made in China by any chance--chicken treats? Hopefully you can get her off the cortisone and she'll stay healthy! |

U know the eating of the poop did worry me but according to my spouse its normal for dogs to do that I still wont rule it out as the cause of the problem Could of been spunal or head trauma from a fall as she was quite the cliffhagner at 2.8 lbs I also make a stew for her i mix it with her pebbles which lasts 2 weeks : beef carrots celeri n patatoes | |
