| Thanks for the help, She did go over all the possible causes of encephalitis, however because the spinal tap was inconclusive they said they cannot know what triggered it unless they do an autopsy. The vet proposed to take an aggressive approach and treat with the chemo pills but we would not be sure of the results for months. The alternative is to keep her on the liquid cortisone which she is definitely responding to given its reducing the inflammation, hopefully this will give her the time she needs to combat whatever caused this. Its been almost 48 hours since she came back home, she is falling alot less, when visitors come she gets excited and is able to take care of her self except when she poops, she loses balance and sometimes it gets messy but nothing a little butt wash wont fix ![]() Here is a pic of my angel, she wanted to thank you all for the support and I will keep you posed. |

| PS: I failed to mention that Dr Sisson is a world renowned Neurologist who has studied/researched and successfully treated dogs with Encephalitis for many, many years. He would be my 1st call for help, if my vet ever thinks one of mine has any type of encephalitis. I strongly urge you to seek his help.

| I am so glad to hear that your little angel is responding to treatment. YAY! I don't remember your saying if your little one had recently had shots or not. Did she in fact have shots? If she did, then I would still look for a Veterinarian who is both a traditional Vet and a Wholistic Vet. My Vet had these credentials and was able to use from both disciplines when she felt it was warrented. Her preference is Wholistic to do the least harm to the body, but she will use traditional medicine if she feels Wholistic is not enough or is not fast enough. She used many different modalities to heal Muffin. Also, I would also call Dr. Sisson that kjc mentioned, as she says he is a world renowned Neurologist who has successfully treated this condition. It couldn't hurt to do both, to "shotgun" it as they say. Hit it with both barrels so as to have all bases covered. My heart is with you. I pray your baby will be fine very soon. I know what you are going through, and it is so very hard. We are here with you and for you. Sending you and your baby light and love. Namaste, Shellie |

| There is no proof that vaccinations cause any illnesses in yorkies. It frightens me that many people avoid them because the end result of distemper is not pretty. ![]() I know some people believe it...but even if it were true it would not warrant not giving them. Sadly there are certain risks with anything in life.

| Dr Dodds latest research says that GME is directly linked to vaccinations. That unvaccinated dogs do not get GME. |

| Unvaccinated dogs can get distemper and suffer and die. I think there is MORE of a chance of contracting that than there is them contracting GME. Where is this research of hers? Is she encouraging people not to vaccinate their pups????

| No she is not encouraging not to vaccinate, not at all. As I'm sure you know she is the reason we now know about over vaccinating or pets . A friend of mine sent me the info from her site back in november & I printed it out & deleted it from my PC & have regreted that delete every since. I am sure whoever wants to know can easily find the info on her site though. I do not encourage people not to vaccinate but do encourage that they read up on the new protocol before doing so. I personally follow the AAHA Protocol for my pups vaccines. I simply don't understand why every time there is a pup with possible GME this question is asked. Would not really matter anyway if the pup already has it. But from what I have read I have not ever seen anything that links vaccines to GME. Just my thoughts....
