Thanks for all the love
My zoey is doing good we called the vet a week after we took her home which was past friday.
The vet thought we were calling to update her with horrible news, when we told her she was still alive she was curious as to wether or not she can walk.
I told her that not only is she walking but shes eating well, gained a bit of weight but that's normal according to the vet.
We are to keep her on the cortisone liquid for a total of 1 month as she is showing great improvements.
With every day her energy levels are increasing, she is sleeping less.
Still not able to jump onto the couch or the bed with the steps we have, but were not going to force her to go anything, we removed all steps to deter her from trying anything before she is 100%.
Her poop was very weird looking at first, it was HUGE but maybe thats the drugs making it take volume once its exposed to the air im not sure why it was as big as that but every day it looks better and better. Today her poop is back to normal.
We found some cooking recipes for dogs, I used to be opposed to giving her human food but Ive changed my mind, she still eats plenty of her pebbles, but for lunch everyday she gets a home made beef stew
Her head tilt is barely noticeable and she does seem slightly disbalanaced but again this is another feature that is improving.
I am convinced this dog is alive because of all the love that surrounds her, dont get me wrong the cortizone definitely helped with the inflammation of the brain but I sincerely think that exposing your dog to as many people as possible and letting them love is the most important thing.
Nothing makes her happier than when any of my 3 brothers or my sister in law come over and shower her with kisses.
Were not out of the woods yet, need to stay realistic we have another 3 weeks of cortisone to go but NEVER give up, my spouse almost did given the state she was in when we brought her for the MRI and spinal tap and I am sure that had I given up too our dog would not have pulled through.
Keep loving to keep living
