| Holy Moly! I ground up turkey instead of chicken and put in their rice, dry food, poultry and canned food mix. So far, all five are flourishing. Too bad I read this after they ate the whole batch. I try to watch the dangerous food list carefully, but never new about this issue. I would love to hear what some of you are feeding. Keep in mind that I have three seniors and two adolescent Yorkies. The two oldest are toothless. It is a trick to find the best food for them. I am willing to pay for quality food. |

| Jack must have a cast iron stomach.... he eats a little bit of just about everything we eat - excluding the really bad stuff like onions, grapes, raisins, and garlicky foods.... but we made him his own plate filled with turkey, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving this year and did the same for him last year. He doesn't like the cranberry sauce though - I think its the consistency.

| I have given turkey to my dogs for the past 20 plus years never had a problem, just plain white meat. Wow I have never heard of turkey being bad for them.

| I'm sorry your baby is sick. However, there is nothing wrong with turkey breast fed to dogs. It is one of the leanest sources of protein around and highly digestible. I would not feed skin or dark meat to a dog given the likelihood of triggering pancreatitis. But white meat turkey is lean and fine for dogs. My dog Barney is a two-time survivor of pancreatitis and he is permitted to eat turkey breast.

| We give our dogs a little of the turkey too. We give just the meat, not any skin, fat, or bone. We also only lightly season our turkey with some salt and pepper, so there are no odd seasonings involved. They just get a little bit as a treat too, not a bunch of it at any one time.

| Well the vet wasn't really sure if it was the turnkey or just an upset stomach. We have 5 dogs and they all ate the turkey, but Zoe was the only one with a reaction. All I know it that she was so sick for two days. Once the blood tests and the xrays came back normal I felt much better. Now is she back to her old self. |

| Dont beat yourself up.. same thing happened to Smokey, but I didnt give him from the roasted turkey. I boiled the neck, giblets and wings with NO seasonings for stock and gave him that over the course of the weekend. Too much of a good thing per the vet. Still getting used to portionizing for such a tiny belly, but all is well again in Smokeytown.
